Tired of busy city life? Want to celebrate a special occasion in style or just in need of some peace and tranquility? Gather your nearest and dearest and head to Woodend Farm for a memorable countryside break in the heart of rural Herefordshire. Here, just a stone's throw from the rolling Malvern hills, you can relax in a beautiful 14th century sprawling Farmhouse, with quaint period features, oil fired central heating, established, private gardens, a BBQ, games room and your very own giant hot tub.
The property boasts 7 boutique bedrooms in all offering a number of configurations to sleep up to 21 guests, depending on your individual requirements. The bedrooms combine modern comfort with unique historical features and splashes of colour. There are 3 bathrooms, each with a shower, spread over the 3 floors, plus a stunning slipper bath surrounded by plants offering a sumptuous soak. The master bedroom also has an en suite w/c. Luxury feather bedding, plump pillows, crisp percale cotton bed linen and fluffy cotton towels are provided for each guest.
After a long day exploring the pretty town of nearby Malvern, hiking up the magical Malvern Hills, or simply chilling out in the beautiful garden with a good book, it's time to sink into a sofa and put your feet up as you get comfy in front of the fireplace and enjoy a well earned drink or 2. The beautiful lounge features ample seating, a smart TV, a sound system and large french windows leading out into the garden.
When tummies rumble, cook up a storm in the well equipped kitchen, where you will find 2 full size fridge-freezers, 5 ring hob, double oven, grill and everything you need to create a tasty feast. Serve your culinary delights in the large, oak beamed, dining room. Eat in front of a roaring fire if its chilly outside, or throw open the french windows on a warm summer's eve. After dinner it's time to break out the board games or venture outside to toast marshmallows around the firepit as you marvel at the fantastic starscapes surrounding our 400 acre farm
On the ground floor there is plenty of allocated space for storing boots and coats , plus the first of our 3 lovely bathrooms, this one features a brand new shower and a chandelier !
On the first floor you will find the decadent Master bedroom, ‘Big Cat Nap’ complete with enormous Emperor size bed, with orthopedic mattress, ample storage and an ensuite. Bedroom 2, ‘Dreamweaver’, is a generous family sized room, containing 2 single beds and a large ziplink super king bed. The superking bed can be separated to form a further 2 singles if you prefer.
Bedroom 3, ‘Rest Nest’, contains a double bed and an additional single bed. On this floor you will also find the second bathroom, with a freestanding slipper bath, oak beams, shower, and his and hers basins. The w/c is conveniently housed in an adjacent space for ease of access.
On the top floor you will find the remaining 4 bedrooms as well as the third bathroom, with shower, basin and w/c. Bedroom 4, ‘Sleep Sanctuary’, has stunning sloping ceilings with exposed beams and a welcoming zip link super king bed, which can be easily separated to make 2 singles.
Bedroom 5, ‘Hibernation Hub’, contains a double bed and a small double sofa bed. Bedroom 6, ‘Retro Roost’, is a unique little bedroom featuring a double bed and fantastic retro Mr Men wall paper that is over 50 years old
The final large bedroom on the top floor, Bedroom 7, ‘Drift away Den’, has a zip link super king size bed at one end, which can be split to form 2 singles, and a cosy little snug at the other end. The snug has a smart TV and 2 comfy sofas, one of which converts to a small double bed, and is a perfect space for watching movies or as a chill out area away from the main living room downstairs
After a restful night's sleep, pour yourself a glass of fresh juice or make use of the coffee machine and enjoy a warm croissant at the breakfast table in the kitchen or out on the patio, while you plan how to spend the rest of your time. The extensive private garden has plenty of seating spots to soak up the views while enjoying a BBQ and if you fancy a countryside stroll then you can easily access our 400 acres of meadows and woodland right from your doorstep.
Children of all ages are well catered for at Woodend, with stairgates across all 3 floors, child friendly utensils and crockery, a baby bath, high chair, crib and cot. There are books, games, toys and a whole wooden chest full of outdoor play equipment. Of course the games room and the huge hot tub (with coloured lights and jets) are always a big hit and there are oodles of space both inside and out to explore.
There are plenty of local attractions to keep you entertained including family friendly hikes up to the Beacon or British Camp Hill Fort, ice skating, horse riding, swimming and even a fabulous little theatre. Malvern is choc full of thrift shops, coffee houses and boutique stores and nearby 'The Fold' offers wild swimming and nature trails, while Eastnor Castle has a jam packed program of events and activities. We are always happy to advise on tasty places to eat locally, from Tapas, Curries or Carvery, to high end fine dining
Woodend Farmhouse stays are suited to relaxed gatherings, family holidays, wellness retreats and sensible celebrations. Outside the house there is ample room to park upto 9 cars and in the enclosed back porch you will find utility essentials including a washing machine and tumble dryer. A shed in the corner of the courtyard houses pre cut firewood and recycling bins.
In the courtyard you will find a beautiful oak beamed building that serves as the games room, complete with leather sofas, stereo, pool table, dart board, table tennis and table football. You will have exclusive use of this space during your stay. We are happy for you to eat and drink in this space provided you are careful. Children under 15 must be supervised in this space at all times please
We are a super dog friendly farm and your four legged furry friends are very welcome here. There is plenty of space for them to roam about and all we ask is that you clean up after them and keep them off the sofas and beds please. Visiting pooches must be people/dog friendly and house trained please
PLEASE NOTE
We ask that guests DO NOT party in the farmhouse. We define partying as the use of DJ equipment and large portable speakers. We welcome family celebrations and responsible gatherings and are happy for guests to play music at a reasonable volume in the farmhouse and games room
Woodend Farm is also home to a small private events venue and on some weekends (between May and Sep) may host weddings and gatherings. The events venue is located on the far side of our farm and completely separate from the farmhouse, so it will not impose on your stay. However, farmhouse guests may occasionally hear some music in line with our licensing laws. We will always notify guests if there is an event taking place the weekend of their booking. In most instances, farmhouse guests are permitted free access to our events and, should they wish to, may take advantage of the live music, kids activities, food stalls and performers that may be taking place that weekend There is also a cheap on site bar for the adults, as well a hut selling smoothies, milkshakes and toasties.
