I expected worse for the low cost. The staff were very polite and had security on the door at night to ensure only residents could enter. The hotel has a quaint sports bar inside, prices were reasonable for a city centre hotel (£5 a pint). The room was sufficient, clean and comfortable if a little small, the room was very warm and fans were provided, no air conditioning and I payed only £40 do didn’t come with a window, overall a positive experience.

Great location, lovely room. Could have been a bit cleaner in the room & bathroom
The hotel is spacious and well-maintained. My bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern. The hotel is centrally located, in easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, and museums in the city centre. I would stay here again!
Wouldnt use this place again. Yes, its clean enough and yes its comfortable enough. But its budget accommodation in every sense. Very tired shabby hotel. Insanely long drawn out checking in process. Led to a super long slow moving queue.
Check in time was supposed to be 2 pm but they said that was wrong and it is 3 pm.
The staff member checking people in was very rude and abrupt and after 45 ninutes which made it 2.45 pm I said I did not like her attitude and customer service was terrible so she said well im not checking you in.
There is a notice to say treat our staff with respect but what about doing the same for the customers.
In the end the nain manager sorted it and was very polite and nice.
They say you get what you pay for and I've had bad experiences at Sachas and Britannia which are part of the same group.
They just dont care about customers
I stayed in a room without windows. There was no air circulating apart from a fan which I had to keep on all night because the room was boiling hot, stuffy and very uncomfortable. I had to sleep with no covers with the fan circulating all night. I woke up several times during the night because it was so uncomfortable. I woke up in the morning with a cold and had to stop off at the pharmacist first thing in the morning to buy some beechams powders. For £85 a night, that room was way too expensive. In fact that should not be a room for guests at all. It should be used as a stock cupboard. Sorry, won’t be staying again.
Had to change rooms arrical due to faulty lighting. 2nd room has a faulty shower head. Had to tske bath after arrival otherwise floor would have wet and caused further damage to room below. Shower head was fixed whilst I was out but the maintainer fid not clean up. Also, toilet did not flush 1st time. No housekeeping. You have to ask for everthing at reception. Que to check in and enquires too long. Everything was a burden to staff and no appology for inconvence or issues experience. Not worth the money. Rooms have table lamps but no ceiling light in the used part of the room. Table lamps did not provide enough light to read in bed.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
good enough but dated no usb charge points in the whole hotel
You walk into reception and the floor is cling filmed all the way through like you’re walking into your grandmas and she doesn’t want the furniture getting dirty. That I can look past, what I can’t is the god awful smell when entering the building. Almost as if I’m in a Wetherspoons toilet. Was disgusting. I upgraded my room when booking. Well, it was beyond basic with dirty walls and slatted windows as an opening system. The “fan” was beyond noisey so that had to be turned off. I dread to think what the room would’ve been before had I not have upgraded. There’s no plug sockets next to your bed, you’ll need to use the kettle socket opposite your bed. Not ideal for an alarm. On the positive, suppose you have to move out of bed to turn it off. If you want to iron anything, you have to make your way up to the top floor and go into a space slightly bigger than a toilet cubicle. There was a building site right outside my window with constant loud noise and constant Lorrie’s back and forth throughout the night made it an unbearable sleep. Definitely not a return visit for me.

Liked: Staff & service
Staff are very friendly and provide excellent service.
We were looking for a cheap stay for a weekend in Manchester. We booked a windowless room… and the heating/cooling had broken. Upon request staff inspected it and offered us a room with windows, but we had to pay the difference. Seemed unnecessary that we had to pay to switch rooms when it was the hotel’s air conditioning that was broken. Also there were European plugs that obviously we were not prepared for (we were expecting the UK power sockets). Really great staff and service though, I will say. Thank you to the receptionist, Mike, for making our stay enjoyable!
