Rude staff

The receptionist David was very rude! We had phoned in the morning before our stay to ask about a pricing issue and were told on the phone we would get breakfast as a good will gesture but when we got to the hotel he had a very poor attitude told us “no one would have offered you breakfast for free” made us feel quite uncomfortable in front of other guests and had a really bad attitude. The room had coffee or something splattered over the walls by the desk and I had to move the single bed to put it by the double for my disabled daughter and the floor was disgusting. It was filthy.

Great stay for concert

Really enjoyable stay and for a fantastic price. We stayed on a Sunday night as we were attending a concert at the Co Op Live, so was nice to get a good price hotel room that wasnt hiked up as a result of the gig. Very clean and spacious room with everything you needed and modern style. Check in was quick and the chap on reception was friendly.

Our room was very clean, beds are comfortable, check in was a bit manic with ques but obviously due to the teddy swims concert, breakfast wasn’t much, food was barely warm and the coffee machine drinks were Luke warm.

Overall the experience of staying at the Leonardo Picadilly Manchester was good. The roof was clean and offered a large comfortable bed. The pillows were a little on the firm side and a spare (3rd) pillow would have been good. The shower was good and got very hot but the water pressure was a little low. Tea & coffee facilities were good but more milks and tea would have been good. The Nespresso machine was a nice touch but a few more pods would have been appreciated. Overall, a pleasant stay but a couple of extra touches for a room that cost me north of £130 per night would have nade this stay outstanding.

The hotel was nice and close to the city centre by foot. The room was relatively clean (apart from a small stain on one of the pillow cases). I do think that the rooms would benefit from either a larger window or more lights - as there are some areas which are quite dull, especially if you are doing your hair and makeup by the desk mirror. The check in procedure needs to be consistent across all staff members - my friend checked into the hotel earlier but it was myself who had made the booking and it was in my name. My friend however was not asked to present any ID upon arrival. When I came later to get a key card, I was told I was not allowed one and needed to wait for my friend to let me in. I explained how I was the lead guest, as I made the booking with my details included, to which I was told I needed to present my ID. The receptionist then proceeded to call the room to check before giving me a key card. Totally unacceptable! Even though it was my friend who checked in, the receptionist who checked them in could’ve checked anyone into my room as no ID or booking details were confirmed. This did not make me feel safe and I would expect better from a 4 star hotel.

Extremely lovely staff! 2 minute walk from New Islington Met station which goes directly to Piccadilly and Etihad/CO-OP Live arena! Comfortable beds, large clean rooms! Very good price!
