We had a wonderful stay and created so many memories here! The "lodge" was spacious, close to the airport, and worked perfectly for our group, providing plenty of room for both family and groomsmen to have their own space. The lakefront was a highlight - fishing and kayaking were enjoyed by all - and the open layout made it an ideal setting for our rehearsal dinner of 45 people. A relaxing place even in the midst of wedding week busyness. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the "Log House" as we called it. We were looking for a nice gathering place for our family reunion, and this home perfectly met our needs. The upstairs Great Room provided enough space and comfortable seating for the adults to mingle and visit, and having the kitchen right there was great because it allowed those who prepped and cleaned up after meals to be a part of the conversations while they worked. The downstairs game room, outdoor yard space and pond gave the kids, teens and young adults lots of space and opportunities to have fun without having to worry about being underfoot of the adults. For those of us who stayed overnight, the beds were comfortable and the various sleeping setups gave us lots of options to choose from. We really appreciated having access to the Washer and Dryer. We only had 1 complaint: the homeowners didn't tell us until the day before check-in that they don't allow shoes to be worn upstairs, which is the main floor with the combined Living Room, Dining Room & Kitchen. They said it was because the wood floors get easily scratched. Although we understood their reason, we feel like they should list this house rule on the websites that they advertise their home on so that potential renters can know that house rule upfront. We had elderly relatives traveling in from out-of-town, and since it is not safe for them to walk around with socks, it would have been good to notify them ahead of time. Otherwise, it was great!
Enjoyed the accommodations! It was serene and quiet with plenty of amenities. The house was well-stocked with necessities. It accommodated 3 families with children of varying ages with comfort. The kids enjoyed fishing and kayaking on the pond.
The place is beautiful. The owners were very helpful when we had some issues getting the dishwasher going. My daughter got ready with all her bridesmaids here before her wedding. There was lots of space and lots of beautiful spots for perfect pictures. The only real downfall was the temperature inside. Our visit was in February. It was hard to heat the place up because of the tall ceilings and open concept. The thermostat also seemed to readjust every 2 hours back down to 60 degrees, which for our family is really cold. We like it warm but maybe it would be ok for others. Overall, it was amazing and the owners were great!
We highly recommend this large home for a big family gathering. We used it for âhome away from homeâ for our daughterâs wedding weekend. The house was very clean and well stocked. The towels and sheets were super-soft, and the mattresses were very comfortable. We would absolutely book here again!
Our family was coming into town for the weekend from Georgia and this was the perfect place in a great location for all of us to reunite after 20years!
The house was exactly what we were looking for and next reunion we will be back! Plenty of space for everyone to have their own space in the evenings.
Our favorite part was the outdoor fire pit and views of the backyard with pond with two kayaks to use.
The owners were very responsive answering all questions we had when we arrived. One of the best rentals we have stayed at over the years.
The Marilla rental is beautiful. The layout of the house was perfect for our three-family gathering. All 6 cousins bunked together. They loved having their own space. Grill, outdoor fire-pit/furniture and large yard allowed for fresh air and more additional space. Excellent stay. I recommend visiting 189 Burger in East Aurora for lunch.
