Property under reconstruction

This is under construction. No lobby to speak of, breakfast was minimal and in to go bags, phones in some rooms but they didn’t work anyway, construction materials laying around the yard … BUT the staff were wonderful especially Raul at check in .. maybe they should have closed during remodeling !

Great place to stay near Monterey!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The check-in process was smooth and our room was very nice and clean! Breakfast was also great and easy to grab on our way out in the morning. The location was only about 20 minutes to Monterey which was perfect for us. Overall, I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

What was unique about this property is that it was half a gas station. I definitely have never seen that before and it was conveniently not in any of the pictures. Another thing that was not in the pictures was the constant swarm of flies around the entire property, and in the rooms. Nothing like choking on a fly the second you sit in bed! Lastly the room was decorated with mold behind wall fixtures, hair in the hairdryer, and bubbles in the wallpaper. A nice extra touch is that there was a very loud generator going off right behind the complex when I arrived. They also did not have a usable check in area upon arrival. It was just some guy who went to get another guy to come out then checked in outside. I knew not to expect a 5-star place for the price point, but I feel like this really was misadvertised.

The staff at the hotel was great! We had priblems with our tv & the came immediately to repair the situation. The location was excellent to go north or south along Highway 1. The cost was prefect for our budget allowing us to spend our money shopping, visiting local attractions & eating out.

Older hotel

They gave us a great dinner recommendation. This is an older Howard Johnson hotel. Someone was doing construction behind the hotel until 8pm which was very loud.
