The apartment itself is cute, spacious, and very well located near the Vieux-Port, which made it easy to explore Marseille on foot. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The layout gave us plenty of room, and on the surface it seemed like a good choice.Unfortunately, several issues made our stay less enjoyable. The sofabed was not set up when we arrived (despite paying an extra fee for it), and when we opened it, we found crumbs inside. The bathroom had noticeable mildew, and the toilet was extremely loud—so much so that flushing it at night would wake up everyone in the apartment. Also, the sink and shower are located in a separate room from the toilet, which was inconvenient.The bigger problem was communication. We messaged the host less than an hour after check-in about the sofabed, but never received a reply. Later, we were surprised to see a 60 deduction from our deposit for “stained linens.” We never stained any linens, and when we asked for clarification, the host again did not respond.This apartment has potential thanks to its size and location, but the lack of cleanliness, maintenance issues, and especially the unresponsive and unfair handling by the host left us very disappointed.
