Wonderful Stay !!

The home was a perfect location for the 6 couples that stayed for my nephew and newest niece-in-law's wedding this weekend.. Well appointed, clean, and a great location. We enjoyed the home even though the weather prevented us from enjoying the wonderful deck. The basement gathering room was a perfect place for us to host a pre-wedding celebration for the couple and other family members staying in the area. The main living room was expansive and comfortable to sit and enjoy great conversation, and the kitchen was large with all the utensils needed. Thanks for an enjoyable place for us to call home for a 3 day fun filled weekend!

Weekend Get Away

This is a wonderful cabin! We took our family to stay the weekend as part of their Christmas present. The owner was very accommodating. The kids went tubing and it wasn’t too far from the cabin. Everyone enjoyed the weekend! We will return.

Holiday Getaway

Had a great time at this cabin! The three levels accommodated us perfectly. My parents stayed on main level, my sister and family upstairs and my family in basement! Some of us went skiing and it was nice to be close to the resort. It did snow and the manager replied quickly to us about a snow shovel! We played games at the cabin. Was able to order pizza delivery! Overall we had a great time! Would recommend this location!

Great start to 2025

We were very pleased with our stay at Big Bear. It had a great home like feel. There is plenty of space to gather yet still have sections where groups can be separate. The location on the VRBO map puts it at a different location compared to the actual address but the location is still great and very convenient to the slopes. Perks included Location, plenty of comfortable beds, clean, Large lower den space with games for kids. Open Kitchen floor plan. Driveway is a bit challenging to manage. Overall we would stay here again and appreciate the hospitality of Big Bear!

Family Thanksgiving

My family gathered in Oct for an early thanksgiving. Our sons had other commitments in Nov and this was a perfect place to be together. There was plenty of space for all. We were close to the resort and had a chance to play mini golf. The rooms are very nicely decorated and the kitchen has an above average array of cookware that is decent quality. The master bedroom on the main level does not have a curtain and is fine for early birds who wake up with the same n but not great if you wish to sleep in. The kitchen counters are black and the over head lighting does not extend into the hinder counter area making it hard to see. The lighting under the cabinets doesn’t do anything to illuminate the counter work space. An investment in under the cabinet lighting would be well worth it. Lowe’s has plenty of reasonable offerings. It is a very nice property and would consider renting again.

Super clean and great location!

Beautiful home just a quick drive to the rec centers/ski resort. Had a great time skiing and tubing, despite how little snow there was. Kitchen had all you need to prepare meals. Beautiful view outside from the deck. Great communication with owner. Would highly recommend.

We overall enjoyed our stay at the Big Bear Lodge and would recommend it to others. Our only complaint is that trash bags should have been provided although host was nearby and dropped one off but policy was you only get the bag that is currently in the trash.

Grandson’s First Ski Trip

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Big Bear Lodge. Very clean and loved the classically rustic decor. Beds very comfortable. 5yr old grandson loved the basement game room. Convenient to all resort activities.

Big Bear Lodge stay in February

This was our second stay at the BBL. Beautiful cabin, great location close to everything Massanutten has to offer. House has all the little things you would need during your stay with a fully stocked kitchen and a playroom in the basement. The only thing I would suggest is adding a curtain in the master bedroom on the first floor. We had a 2-year old with us and it was a bit challenging to keep him in his bed early in the morning when the sun was up. Other than that, great property!

We were so pleased with our stay and it couldn’t have been better. The owners were so personable and made sure that our stay was as enjoyable as humanly possible. Have already recommended it to friends and will keep recommending. Will absolutely stay here again. It was so clean which was the most important thing to us because we have small children.

The owners made sure we were so happy with our stay. Our flights from Florida came in early and we were allowed to do an early check-in. The place is clean and the kitchen is labeled. It made the place feel like home... The place has everything that makes your cabin experience a comfortable experience. We are already booking for next year's vacation.

Absolutely Perfect!

My husband and I stayed at the Big Bear Lodge for our Shenandoah vacation. The photos are accurate yet don’t do it justice. It is spotless, beautiful, and had everything we needed. It’s only a short drive from the park and the living room furniture was perfect for relaxing after a long day of hiking. Most of the properties we’ve booked through VRBO have required us to bring our own sheets, towels and paper products, but they are all provided at the Big Bear Lodge. Mary, was so nice to work with. We can’t wait to go back!

Birthday get away

It cabin is beautiful with great view of the trees and mountains. We took my mother for her 82nd birthday and had a quiet girls weekend. The cabin is spotless and very charming. It was nice having the 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. There is a lot to do in the area. My sister and I went horseback riding. Mary and Mac were very helpful and available. I can't wait to go back.

Exceeds Expectations!

This property was immaculate, from the smallest detail to the larger details! Everything was labeled so you knew exactly where it went. The home was decorated BEAUTIFULLY which set the perfect ambience for a mountain lodge. The views and location was perfect! There was a huge game room in the basement with an extra queen bed that was not pictured or added in the description. The only thing that could have made this home even better is a hot tub😄 I would 110% recommend this rental for your next stay in Massanutten! P.S. The host’s of this home were awesome to deal with and delivered great communication.

Mountain getaway

Had a great time at the big bear cabin, location was excellent and the cabin was clean and comfortable. Would recommend for fun or relaxation. Owners were responsive to questions and check in and out seamless. Will be back..
