Check on was a little confusing but we called VACASA and they assisted rogjt away. WIFI access was easy and house was clean inside Hot tub was clean and we had no issues, outside needs updates. Porch was unkept and 1 seat around the firepit did not suffice the 10 of us. Property was overall clean and nice other than what I memtionedI would suggest updating the furniture outside.
Quiet neighborhood on the mountain, but just a couple of miles from town. We enjoyed the firepit. Plenty of space for 3 generations. With large groups visiting, hot tub should get midweek maintenance, but that isn't offered. The house had some maintenance needs. The property manager told me that after addressing ice storm damage, these smaller issues were still awaiting attention. We saw evidence of mice, which is not unusual for a house in the country, but no other indoor wildlife. The 800 number wasn't very helpful, but the local office went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our stay.
The cabin on the inside was very nice wish the beds were bigger, however very clean and spacious. The outside grounds needed allot of attention the grass/weeds had not been cut. The so called fire pit was non existent! The screened in front porch was very nice however not cleaned or maintained. The gas fireplace downstairs did not work that had been mentioned before from a previous visitor
The property itself was nice however it lacked some very basic care. Screen doors broke and hanging on by a thread. Hot tub has a major leak and needs to be refilled every two days. Gas fire place did not work. Broken outlets, missing lamp shades, and cover plates. Septic system overflowed into house and know one seemed to care. After 8 hours and multiple calls I was finally able to speak with the property owner who imformed me he was aware of this reoccurring issue. I requested a refund but still have yet to hear anything.
The cabin was pretty clean, it had enough room and space for 10 people and we have extra beds left. The kitchen is well equipped with all utensils and plates, bowls, pans, etc. It was overall great! Unfortunately we had bad weather and the couches and the grill got all wet since the wind blew the covers. Also, the grill was not cleaned by guest and it was left all dirty so we had to clean it just to find out it didnât have gas.
We were all staying for a conference nearby and wanted a nice place to stay and save money from booking a hotel. It was the perfect place for our needs.
Everything the homeowner is responsible for was wonderful and as expected. There were plenty of beds, pillows, seating areas and a very well equipped kitchen. There is a beautiful patio with tables, chairs and a nice swing.
The enjoyment of the property was significantly diminished because of Vacasa and its systems. They do not make a practice of cleaning before a rental so there was dust in the house but more importantly the patio and its furniture were filthy. For 24 hours we followed their ticket reporting process to no result. After escalating, we reached a local manager who would not promise that it would be cleaned. Eileen arrived on Saturday to clean (we checked in Wednesday). She was great. However, the unit lost water on Saturday at 8:00am and wasnât fixed until 2:00pm. Vacasa didnât even offer to bring or send a bottle of water. Imagine a house with 8-9 people getting ready for graduation and a big family lunch to follow with no showers, no flushing, no cooking and no washing dishesâŠ. The local GM said he didnât have the people to help.
The only thing that did work was Eileen and her filing a repair report for the trash receptacle torn apart by the bear.
I will be seeking a refund from Vacasa, not the owners. They did their part.
We booked this property for a family and friends ski vacation and had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and contains everything you need for a weekend away. The kitchen was well stocked and had every tool or appliance you could possibly need.
I was also worried about the temperature as we visited when it was very cold and snowy, but the house was well insulated and toasty warm. The wood burning fireplace, the hot tub, and the basement hang out all were awesome features that the kids really loved.
The hot tub was especially enjoyable after a long, cold day on the slopes, and it was perfectly clean! We would definitely stay here again!
Absolutely pleased with this rental. It was huge and had everything you could possibly need and then some. Cleanest house I've ever rented. All towels and linens provided. It was just absolutely the best place I've ever rented.
This house was perfect for our needs. It had all dishes, grill tools, beds, linens, etc that we needed. There are a few neighbors in the distance, but overall this is one of the more secluded locations we've had at Deep Creek, which we enjoyed.
Like some of the other reviews have noted, we had issues with the hot tub. We were able to access it fine, but the water was disgusting. A guy came by to service it after we had checked in, but the water remained cloudy and filled with sediment throughout the weekend. I have a hot tub at home, and I could tell that the filter needed thoroughly cleaned, internal pipes cleared, and the water needed drained and refilled. That's something you have to do every 2-3 months with heavy usage, and it clearly hadn't been done in awhile.
That being said, we didn't really need to use it for what we were doing. I never called the company to see if they could have someone come out and drain/refill and clean the filter. Maybe they would have addressed it if I asked.
Overall, I felt the price we got on this house was good value compared to similar properties in the Deep Creek area.
The house was great other than a $60 hot tub fee for a hot tub the didnât work. They sent a lady to try and fix it the night before we had to check out and she also couldnât fix it. Kinda rip off if you ask me. I get itâs only $60 but hey thatâs a tank of gas. Wasted money. I called within the first two hours of checking in and let them know it was cold and low on water. So 3 days it took for someone to come look at it. And it still was never fixed. They also have yet to make it right and give me back the money.
No access to hot tub, customer service is off shore and doesnât care!
The house was nice but the customer service was awful. The code to the house was incorrect when we first arrived, no problem, we called and were able to get the right code to get in. Then the hot tub was locked and it took 4 phone calls to customer service over a period of 24 hours with no return calls (when they said they would call back.) We received the run around with long hold times on all calls and each said they were contacting local management. The reason we chose this house was solely due to the hot tub which we only had access to half of the time we were there. Huge disappointment. I asked for a partial refund due to the inconvenience and was told they would have to get an approval and IF they heard anything back from local management they would let me know. Surprise, surpriseâŠyet again no return call. Will NEVER book again. Such a shame because it was a nice area and not too far for us to travel for a weekend away.
Stayed with friends at the property which is very close to Wisp. Had a great time. Home was clean and well maintained albeit a bit dated. Would stay again.
We were called to let us know we could check in early but we were unable to move traffic any faster so a little after 4 before we arrived. Called for code and with poor reception was very time consuming. Entering the house it was very cold and with multiple heating systems hard to get temp good for the night. Windows were dirty so obstructed the view as well as foliage not taken care of to make the view a plus.
House was clean and nice. Deep cleaning for cobwebs in corners, ceilings and skylights need attention.
Lower level bathroom needs to be redone asap re black mold, bugs and spiders. The rest of the lower level was nice. Carpet needs to be cleaned on lower level due to large stain in front of bathroom under steps.
If these things mentioned were resolved, especially mold, we would stay again. If not we would not. Nice house just needs some work. Outdoors and on lower level.
The code that was sent to me for this property did not work. Finally after calling management again and again I got the right code 3 hours after check in time. DO NOT rent properties operated by Vacasa. By the way on our way home after 4 day stay I received a text message asking did we ever get into the home.
It was a perfect house and location for my nephew's bachelor party, for 11 individuals. The house had enough beds and bathrooms for everyone, the kitchen and outside grill were perfect. The activities, restaurants and bars in the local were great.
Vacasa did not follow through on a full refund for very poor property management. It started with getting into the house with keypad problems. While checking the home, I discovered a dead mouse in the middle of the Master bathroom floor. We lost water in the house completely (zero water) on both of the full days we were staying there. The house accommodates 12 people. We only had 6 family members staying at the house. 3 family members could not take a shower before a family reunion on 1 of the days. Very slow response on getting someone at the home to fix the water issue. I had asked for a new home which they said they had on the evening of our last night at 7:00 PM. At that point, the water was fixed and we were heading out at 8:00 AM the next morning. Taylor from Vacasa was very nice on the phone when she said we would get a FULL refund. As a logically minded person, I thought a full refund meant a FULL refund. A couple days later, I received less than half of the price I paid for the rental. Many phone calls to Taylor at Vacasa went unanswered. So disappointing. I will never rent a property managed by Vacasa again.
Our family had a great reunion at his lovely house. There was plenty of room for all indoor activities while still offering some places to sit and get away. We enjoyed sitting around the large dining room table as well as sitting in the large living room. Not quite cold enough to use the fireplace.
The few problems we had were not insurmountable. The code on the front door lock didn't work on arrival but a quick phone call and remote reprogramming solved the problem. The inside cleaning was immaculate, but it seems no attention at all was given to the outdoor deck. Minor issues that didn't affect our stay or rating of a great place.
Our stay at Tall Oaks was over all a fantastic one. We had a minor glitch getting into the house with the electronic door lock. We could have had a little more instruction with the keypad. Customer support was accommodating and patience. The ac unit was not working, however, the management company was aware of it. It would have been nice to have been notified of the repair needed so we did not have to call, however, all was being done to fix the repair. During the week we did not need the ac unit anyway, so all worked out. The home was all we expected and more. Our family will be back to Tall Oaks Retreat in the future.
