Warning — Hidden Charges and Dishonesty After BookingAt the end of my stay, I was unexpectedly told I had to pay for electricity usage. This was never stated anywhere in the original listing, and I had already made full payment for my stay. I was told I had to pay immediately in cash or by card and that they would not process it through the app.Once I was home, I reviewed the listing thoroughly and confirmed it was not mentioned anywhere. I contacted Vrbo to request a refund and provided screenshots and a printed copy of the original listing as proof. Later, the host claimed it was in the listing — but by that point, they had edited the listing after my stay, so this was clearly added later.This was deeply disappointing, as the accommodation itself was lovely and would have earned a glowing review otherwise. Be very careful when booking with this host — take screenshots of the listing at the time of booking and be wary of last-minute extra charges.
