The host, without cause canceled our reservations, two days in of our seven day stay. Accused us of moving out of the unit when we had not done so. The host is a real estate agent who did not notify us prior to our booking that she had the property listed for sale. She asked during our first day there if we could allow a showing. We did not feel comfortable with this and shortly after she canceled the reservation she was in the upper unit cleaning the other rental property when we moved out, and I attempted to talk to her regarding this matter she refused to engage with me to figure out whatâs going on. Youâre better off, staying in your car than at this place.
The host was very welcoming and accommodating and always responded quickly and with urgency which i appreciated very much. The first night was a little rough only because the people staying above us seemed to have a lot of visiters and you could hear everything going on above you. It would have been nice to have a washer and dryer however, there is a note stating they are adding one soon! Other than that, the living areas were so cute and cozy! I love that there wasa candle light and soft christmas music playing when we entered. The beds were comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed the historic charm of the property! We would definitely stay here again but next we would rent the upstairs ans the downstairs!
Kelly, I recommend you get some FRESH WAVE for the house. You can order it online. A cat has sprayed in the living room and it is not covered up with candles. It was designed originally to reduce the smell in septic systems and they opened up a residential channel. It works superbly. We loved the house, just not the noise or cigarette smoke from upstairs. When we booked, we were unaware there was an upstairs rental. If we had known we would have taken the whole house. Lessons learned. You were fabulous. We adored the house. We tried to respect it as if it was our own. I know the floors were swept and mopped prior to departure. If you are ever in NC and want some farm life..give us a shout.
I had a last minute change of plans. While I couldn't stay, I did use the house as a comfy rest and refresh stop. Kelly was great and kept in touch trying to be as flexible as possible. Love the historic character of the home, too. Reminded me of my grandparents seashore house. Yard, patio, garden, imagine they are spectacular in Spring,.Summer, and Fall. Will plan another visit soon
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...plus comfy beds. I was touring coastal Delaware for a potential move to the area. This home is perfectly located to see all of the communities like: Lewes, Rehoboth, Georgetown, Haeberson. Additionally, if you like beer...Dog Fish is literally around the corner, and Dewey Beer is 6-minutes away.
Lovely place with a perfect location. We only stayed one night but look forward to visiting again. The added bonus was the spacious yard for our two dogs.
Absolutely fabulous! I ask a lot of questions when traveling and our host always got back to me no matter what time of day. The yard is beautiful in multiple spaces for working, sleeping, relaxing, and even a table for puzzles or gaming.
Cute and unique house, great location, loved the yard- wish the dining table was bigger and sturdy for a family of 5. The host had been great at staying in touch.
We stayed here for a guys' golf trip weekend, and everything was amazing. I cannot recommend this historic house enough. It's within walking distance of much of what Milton has to offer and a relatively short drive to several excellent golf courses. Kelly was a fantastic hostâher communication and local knowledge were both incredible. I'll definitely be looking to book this place again in the summer to take advantage of the yard and its proximity to the ocean.
The house alone is interesting. The location couldn't be better. The yard was amazing for the dogs. Clean home and welcoming host. We arrived to music and soft lights set up for out arrival. Would recommend!
The house was so cute! The gardens in the back and around the front entry were really amazing and added to the charm. When you walk in the little hall way goes left to a living area or right to a set of stairs that leads to the upper floor. The upstairs has a huge bathroom and 3 bedrooms. The bedroom all the way to the left has 2 beds and a kitchenette in it which was pretty cool. The other side of the hall has a queen bedroom and a single bedroom. The upstairs also has a door at the bottom which can be closed to make 2 apartments. Downstairs has a master king ensuite bedroom with a really comfortable mattress (its very firm but i love that). The whole house had really nice blinds for privacy. There is a galley like kitchen which is small but was perfect for us. An entry to the backyard gardens and paths is right off the kitchen. There is a dining room off of the livingroom that has a door with a cute bell on the bottom that leads to a deck. The entire yard is fenced in. It was perfect for our pup to run around in. We really enjoyed the decor of the place and the historical cosiness of it! It reminds me of a little Halloween house! The picket fence and the front entry add so much charm and sort of take you back in history. The house also seems to be cat friendly! There is a cat tree and catdoors all around! I wish i could have traveled with my cats! They would have appreciated the house as much as I did! The place is also close to town. The host is friendly and responsive!
