What a lovely property. Tucked away off a very quiet lane. Comfy, cosy. Small private garden, woodland to rear and the sound of the waves to the front. Everything you need ( a radio would be nice) . Minutes away either walking down the hill or driving to Porlock Weir. Feeling rejuvinated.
A really lovely cottage and communication with the owner was enough without being overbearing. The location was good and had easy walks to the local village pub (always important).
I think the only thing that could possibly be improved (if possible due to the age of the building) is the shower but completely understand why it may not be possible.
The bathroom was cold. Nice touch re welcome milk, butter etc.
A few details lacking. Quite a few bulbs not working downstairs making it a bit gloomy. Also no facilities for recycling or food waste despite suggesting this in the manual. Small points for an otherwise very pleasant rental in a quiet and secluded location. Happy to return someday.
Just what we needed - ideal cottage for a couple wanting to get away for the weekend. Beautiful views of the sea from the bedroom window and from the garden. Easy (but muddy!) stroll down to Porlock Weir for dinner at the pub. Lovely to come inside and dry out in front of a roaring fire after walking through the storm! Great to have the basics provided as well - bread, butter, milk, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar.
