Property is nice but my issue was before I booked I called because I was passing through and wanted to play poker. Over the phone I was told they had poker so I booked the room to stay and play poker. I’m a truck driver so I cut my time short on the road.. I checked in went to my room to change came back down to play poker just to find out they don’t have poker. I explained to them my only reason was to come play poker. I asked to cancel room so that I could continue on down the road my only reason was to play poker and I asked. They told me they couldn’t cancel so I left and never used the room.

Everything about the Mystic Lake complex is well done. Attractive decor, cleanliness and friendly service are everywhere. We found tasty and economical food in the Minnehaha Cafe. Our room was clean, Attractive and comfortable for our 2 night stay to get away.

Front Desk Staff Horrible. Food and Bev top

My partner and I had a 2 night stay planned over the 4th. I was greeted sarcastically and rudely by front desk staff. They promised us a room to view the fireworks. See image below...that was our view. In the middle of the night around 2am the heat kicked on and the room became 100 degrees! No sleep was had. Instead of moving us they sent maintenance to our room. It worked for a few hours and we finally slept. After asking the front desk for a new room or a free night to compensate our horrible night they said.. "The only thing we can do is give you $50 towards food and beverage" This was a $600 room and we felt blamed because thats how the front desk treated us like it was our fault their HVAC system didnt work. I am a professor of Hospitality Management, I teach this for a living and can honestly say that Mystic Lake Hotel had the worst front desk staff I have ever encountered. There were some pluses.. Christopher in food and beverage amazing knows what he is doing! Kaden from Prairie Meadows was super kind very generous going out of his way to make our stay better. Food at this hotel was fantastic!!! Noodles at the small cafe are to die for. And hey they even roll around a hot dog cart. Valet and Bell Hop 10/10 what a hardworking staff. Please do something about your front desk staff .. they need training on how to be kind to guests that truly are here to spend money and have a good time. Sorry we wont be coming back 😔

We booked our reservation on Expedia and used Affirm as the payment option but then the hotel charged our credit card for the room rather than using it just for incidentals like we were told. Now have to somehow cancel the Affirm purchase so we are not double billed.

The room was excellent except for a lot of hair left in the shower and in a few other miscellaneous spots. Otherwise, would highly recommend and enjoyed the experience.
