Cool place! Mash up of knotty wood cabin, mid century modern and garage sale finds!
Description of the property is quite accurate - access to the upper level can be better described as climbing a ladder - these are not steps. Put the young unâs upstairs would be the recommendation. Outdoor furniture is weathered and quite tired. Kudos to the privacy and setting. Picked our fill of wild blackberries and enjoyed the visit by 3 mama turkeys and their broods.
The cabin is just as pictured. After a stay in busy Yosemite Valley this secluded cabin was much welcomed! The location was perfect for exploring Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. Remote location, beautiful night skies and well stocked kitchen. Some things to note, every lamp in the property has a different way to turn on. Many lamps were unplugged so we had to figure it out. I am glad we were with friends coz the house is 1/4 of a mile from the main road. We ended up locking the gate to the property while we were there too. The drive to the property is a winding downhill with many hairpin and steep curves (about 4.5 miles).Very quiet area, within nature and within peaceful surroundings.
Read the description of the cabin. It accurately describes the cabin. We rented it to mainly visit Sequoia NP. We did cook out one night on the patio. Very pleasant environment. It was easy to find everything one needed. Plenty of towels, sheets, etc. There is a restaurant 5 minutes away that offered food, drink and free pool. For the money spent, we felt it was a good value and would happily stay here again.
Rustic older cabin in the hills and mountain area around Kings Canyon. All the right tools for the 3 nights we stayed. Wifi was necessary and appreciated as there is no connectivity for our cell phones. Extra towels, blankets, food, dishes, all made it great. Cabin was initially stuffy from being locked up, but we opened the windows and the back door for a few hours and it cleared up. My girls who stayed up in the loft kept the window open as it is extra warm and less air up there. Mornings were chilly and we used the extra blankets. The chirping birds and little lizards made the deck super fun. We had a blast. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
Great little getaway only 15 or 20 minutes away from big stump entrance. Cabin is nestled away in a nice quiet area. Lots of Wildlife nearby. We even saw a wild Tom Turkey strutting his stuff on the hillside. The cabin had easy access to big stump entrance.
We really enjoyed this property. It is much like a camp which was comfortable and kitschy. If you are high maintenance, not the place for you but 99% of folks will love it. The outside deck is wonderful. Added 10 new birds to my life list. The most outstanding aspect of this property is the proximity to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. I am a Park Geek, so this was perfect. In addition, the host is one of the best we have worked with. Communication was excellent and instructions were complete and understandable. Cabin is well stocked, which isn't always the case. I would highly recommend this property.
Great communication and lots of good info/warnings,esp about the dirt road leading to the cabin. Good wifi. Located fairly near entrance to King's Canyon. Nice deck, esp on a sunny day, surrounded by trees and birdsong. Appreciated being able to charge our electric car.All the furnishings & linens were quite vintage. Main problem was that the cabin, bathroom floor, and (very old) kitchenware were not clean.
Just what we needed! Silent, cozy, rustic hideaway, just 20 min's from Kings Canyon/Sequoia. Took gorgeous hikes each day, warmed up by the fire at night. Kitchen had everything we needed, and Li and Tali were always available, friendly, and generous with information and helpful tips. Thank you :)
Li's cabin is just a short (and beautiful) drive away from Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP. Everything is comfortable -- nice deck for breakfasts and dinner, great fireplace, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen. Li is a gracious host, and gave us all the directions and help we needed. A+
A darling little cabin in the woods with every detail attended to. The ultimate in cozy, comfy, and peaceful. We also appreciated all the notes around the cabin that gave us really helpful information. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!
Nice little cabin. If you looking for a place to be close to Kings Canyon this is a nice place. No TV's!! Nice place to relax on the porch and decompress! And the blackberries were an bonus!! Got a coupke bottles of jam out of it!
A traditional, western cabin in the woods. Very quiet and secluded. Takes you back in time. Many retro and unique objects to reminisce about. A truly unique experience.
Very clean, nice little cabin for four. Two twin beds in a loft upstairs, and a queen bed downstairs in a separated bedroom. Good communication through host. Everything as advertised.
I believe that the Ponderosa Cabin will always have a place in my mind and my heart as the best country house I have ever visited. Isolated, surrounded by nature, roustique, original and vintage, gave me the feeling of visiting my grandparents house up in the mountains. Kids loved the attic and all of us enjoyed the board games that were available. The fireplace makes the whole experience even better! Moreover, the owner has been great with communication and resolved any question I had in time. The only negative thing is the network coverage in the area, depending which provider you have. However, there is efficient wifi in the cabin to stay connected ... if you wish! One more thing to add is that the location is perfect for those that plan a visit to Kings Canyon and Sequoian NP. Only 15-20 mins from the north entrance, the one closer to Kings Canyon. Last but not least the cost. I would say that for what it offers and compared to per night stays' values in the area, the price is fair enough.
