The property was great for my familly. We were there to attend a funeral. The space was excellent. The host was quick with responding to all of our needs when they arose. I would definitely come back as we are in the area frequently.
We brought in 11 people for a wedding. There was plenty of space for us all. The host was quick to reply to any questions or concerns we had. Everything in the house was staged nicely for us. We enjoyed our stay!
Very nice place to stay as a big group. Only downside is that the bottom rooms connect to each other so basically no privacy lol but other than that very nice home to stay.
I don't know where to begin with this review. I've been booking with VRBO for quite some time and I've not ever written a review like this. I've never stayed at such a poorly maintained property. None of the problems listed in the previous reviews have been addressed except for the lock on the front door. We had 16 people staying on this property comfortably (as far as space-wise) but we didn't have enough linens for even 1 per person. Towel bars and toilet tissue holders were ripped off of the wall and the front room's air conditioning vent was just dangling from the ceiling. Dining room seating is not as pictured-- the large table only had 3 chairs and no bench. The kitchen is the most updated area of the house but very slimly stocked and equipped for accommodating larger groups. When we checked in, we had trouble with the keypad due to the code not being changed from the last renter and we were told to just use that code for our stay (security issues there from our perspective). There is very poor lighting on the side of the house with the driveway and keypad entry. Interestingly, the upstairs toilet seems to be hooked up to the hot water heater (bowl is hot to the touch) and that cannot be up to code. The upstairs bedroom to the right has a large nasty rug/carpet just wadded up and thrown into the bottom of the closet. This could be a great property. It has so much potential but it is very poorly maintained and managed. It's a real shame.
The house worked nicely for us. I would recommend that there be some better and more cookware. The kitchen isnât set up for much cooking. The upstairs bedrooms would benefit from ceiling fans and the towel track in the upstairs bathroom needs to be replaced. Otherwise we had a nice visit. The neighborhood was amazing!
The house was not in great shape. The floors were buckled in one of the bedrooms, the light above the dining room table could only be turned off by unscrewing the lightbulbs. The carpet in one bedroom was gross. The chain lock on the front door was broken. The kitchen was hardly stocked with the needed dishes, certainly not equipped for any cooking, which was a shame since we had the place for an entire week. The couches in the living room were horribly uncomfortable - one you felt like you sunk to the floor and the other you felt like you were sitting on concrete. No ceiling fans upstairs and the air circulation was awful. We had to purchase fans for it to be bearable. We reached out to property management, and they responded and said they would look into the air and then we never heard back. It was August in Mobile, so we get that it was hot. No mirrors in the bedrooms so you had to use the mirrors in the living room or bathroom to put on makeup. With 8 women- that was tough. The ceiling in the downstair bathroom was falling down. I could go on and on...
I've stayed at many rentals and this one was very middle of the road.
Upon walking in there were multiple dead cockroaches lying around. The light switch in the dining room didn't work so the lights were stuck on the whole time. I had to unscrew the light bulbs to fall asleep at night because the light came into the two bedrooms near it. There are small windows near the ceiling where all the light came in.
The AC doesn't keep up with the hot summer with temps in the house averaging 72-74 on the ground level and it was much hotter upstairs making the two bedrooms up there very undesirable. Who wants to sleep in 80+ degrees?
I got a text the second day from the owners saying I was blocking the neighbor's driveway with a vehicle I legally parked on the street. I was an hour + away and couldn't get back till dinner and didn't know if my car was going to be towed or not.
The shower was good and the living room and TV worked just fine. I just didn't feel like the owners put much love into this place.
Who doesn't put together a welcome pack for guests? It isn't that hard.
If you are staying in the off-season and need a cheep place when the weather isn't hot, then this is workable. Other than that stay somewhere else.
When we arrived the garbage stunk so bad you couldnât even stand in the driveway. When we went to take it to the road it had obviously been there longer than the last trash day bc there were maggots falling out of the can and covered the top. The drive way was REALLY TOUGH. I was hoping the whole time it would pop my car tire. The chairs to the table were broken. One friend just set down and the chair hit the floor. heâs a very skinny guy and the chair was already broke and was just setting there not actually fixed. There were cockroaches everywhere when we first arrived and through our trip. I ask them to come and take care of this. And even text the manager but nobody came. Will not be staying here again.
The management team worked with us very well. Our work crew needed a quiet place to stay close to job site that could host multiple adults working 12 hour shifts round the clock.
We would book again.
