Pool and accommodation tired

Sadly the pool was is need of substantial repair. The cracked slabs and crumbling cement around the pool was dangerous for bare feet and attracted wasps to nest. Not ideal for young children and babies. There was a constant bad smell in the kitchen due to drainage problems in the area of the sink. The setting is idyllic and very peaceful in amongst the forest but we got bitten alive with all the woodland mosquitoes.

The property was as expected and well equipped with lots of room for 8 people. The land attached was spacious, but unusable due to number of flies, as the property was mainly woodland (this will stop us from going back to the property). The pool was good as were the facilities,but I must admit that the property would benefit from air conditioning, as bedrooms were hot at night. We were a little concerned that for the price we paid, we were asked on the day before leaving to either clean the property or 100 euros to have the house cleaned on leaving.. We will elected to clean the property, as we are used to keeping our homes clean anyway

Stunning property in a secluded location

I have to say the photos while great don't do this property justice, the house itself is simply gorgeous, to the point that one day I hope to own a house like this. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge with the huge fire place and high ceilings is excellent, the pool table good fun, there is even a whirlpool bath for a bit of extra indulgence. Outside the two terrace were great, breakfast on the smaller overlooking the heated pool, evenings on the large terrac with a glass of wine, perfect. Locally there is plenty to see, with the bastide towns being lovely attractions, and good eating out opportunities, there are nice and interesting chateau only a short drive away. A good location of a relaxing but interesting stay.

Starting to look a little tired

Had a lovely 2 weeks at the property and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. As you drive up to the house it has the instant wow factor, However, after a very short time you see the effects where the house is tired. For example, wall paper peeling off in quite a few rooms, shower head not fitting in the shower holder, but worst of all was the area around the pool where grouting was missing. Where the grout was missing this attracted wasps due to the water in it it, which resulted in a number of stings being received, and could have been prevented by re-grouting. Slabs were broken and loose including those on the side of the pool which could be dangerous to children. An electrical junction box was raised and broken which could cause a foot injury. By the back door is a large tree which, although beautiful, needs to be trimmed at least, as this harbours an area where the flies enjoy staying under which is your seating area. Aside from the above, we all had a lovely time and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of a lovely property.

Perfect!

We were very impressed by the quality of this villa and its surroundings! We were able to relax at the pool, play table tennis, badminton and 'boules'. It was so quiet and relaxing. We could walk to the boulangerie in the morning which was just down the road. Lots if interesting places to visit nearby.

Séjour parfait ! Accueil parfait par Christine et ses gourmandises, séjour parfait, maison et terrain parfaits. Deux semaines de calme au milieu de la forêt de chênes et de visites dans les différentes bastides de la région. Une adresse à retenir pour de prochaines vacances, c’est sûr.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. La maison à la décoration soignée est pleine de charme et de caractère ; et l’on s’y sent vraiment bien. Super-propre, elle est très bien équipée, avec tout le confort nécessaire. Elle offre des prestations extraordinaires à tous points de vue et rien ne manque. Tout a été pensé dans les moindres détails, (cuisine ultra-pratique, literie neuve et d’excellente qualité).Ce lieu est vraiment exceptionnel : la maison est en pleine nature, entourée de pelouses et de fleurs, au cœur d’une forêt de chênes, dans un environnement calme et verdoyant. Les amoureux de la nature seront ravis, ils y verront et entendront des chevreuils, des grenouilles, des salamandres et de très nombreux oiseaux dont les gazouillis servent de réveil le matin, fenêtre ouverte.Il y a de nombreux espaces extérieurs pour se reposer à l’ombre dans cette oasis de tranquillité et de bien-être, et de nombreux chemins de promenade qui partent de la maison.La piscine est particulièrement agréable : elle est chauffée et bien exposée. Que du bonheur... Merci à Christine pour son accueil plus que chaleureux, sa disponibilité, sa générosité et sa gentillesse. Merci pour ces vacances inoubliables ! Sans aucun doute notre plus beau séjour !Nous reviendrons l’an prochain !

Acceuil chaleureux dans un cadre idéal

Notre séjour au Pilou a débuté par l'accueil très chaleureux de Christine et sa confiture de prune, exquise (accompagnée d'une tarte au pruneaux pas moins délicieuse). La maison est très jolie et aménagée avec beaucoup de goûts, l'extérieur est splendide et incite à la détente entre amis, au calme. Beaucoup de lieux touristiques se situent entre 10 mn et 1 heure, ce qui permet vraiment de profiter de la maison et de la région. C'est avec plaisir que nous recommandons cette adresse.

Parfait !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Pilou ! Christine est aux petits soins, à tous les niveaux (arrivée, logistique, départ), elle est très arrangeante et disponible. Elle nous a même préparé un gâteau de bienvenue, c'était très sympa. Nous étions 6: 4 adultes + 2 enfants et les équipements sont bien adaptés: lave vaisselle, lave linge, cuisine très fonctionnelle, espaces extérieurs incroyables et bien aménagés, salle de billard, grange semi ouverte avec ping pong, des vélos laissés à disposition, piscine chauffée, balancelle, ... .... Merci pour ce séjour que je recommande vraiment !

De superbe vacance

Le gîte est idéal aux regroupement familiale ou entre amis il y a tout pour passer un beau séjour! Le billard et le terrain de pétanque est particulièrement plaisant ! je remercie encore la propriétaire pour la tarte aux pruneaux a notre arrivée ainsi que la confiture de pêches. Excellent séjour! Seule bémole la présence continue de frelons et les cannes de billards qui seraient à remplacer. Je recommande vivement le Gîte du Pilou.

Excellent séjour au Pilou

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Pilou en famille. La location est magnifique et l’accueil de Madame Caminade est exceptionnel. On se sent comme à la maison dès les premiers instants. Rien ne manque, et que ce soit pour les adultes ou les plus jeunes, tout est fait pour passer un bon moment. La cabane en bois, le bac à sable, le toboggan, la balançoire et la piscine ont diverti les enfants tout au long de notre séjour alors que le boulodrome, la table de ping pong et le billard nous ont permis de passer d’agréables moments en famille également. Petit plus, les enfants ont même pu profiter d’une matinée poney chez Madame Caminade! Une expérience inoubliable pour les enfants. Nous recommandons fortement cette location si vous souhaitez profiter d’un agréable séjour au calme dans un environnement verdoyant.

Excellent séjour.

Magnifique propriété au milieu des bois, très propice au ressourcement et au farniente. Toutes les commodités sont au rendez-vous avec piscine, table de ping-pong, un magnifique billard américain, barbecue, jeux pour enfants...etc... De plus la propriétaire des lieux est hyper gentille, accueillante (confiture, gâteau et boîte de pâté maison dès l'arrivée...) et très disponible. Bref, une parfaite location de vacances au calme et au bon air comme on aimerait en voir plus souvent.
