The check in process was terrible, I requested 2 beds for 2 female adults but they gave me 1 king bed, if I complain about a problem just fix it, but no the constant back and forth. I had to go to the lobby so many times and nobody can help. They don’t know how to speak to customers with respect. Some employees were very polite and courteous, but of course the bad one lingers. The food was just ok nothing special the Jamaican food section was not on point just ok. Upon my last night I had another bad interaction with a security guard that just completely turned me off. I had a family member visiting me, I called and gave his name at no point they told me of visiting hours, they were in the lobby just hugging and talking to me the constant harassment I received and the questions of the gifts I had for his kids. The most I enjoyed from this resort was the nightly entertainment they got a 10/10. Would I return nope not at all. It also seem everyone had room delay of rooms not ready on arrival.

Some of the staff saved the resort for me, some staff were rude at our family dinner. The room smelled of dampness and mold. There was black mold on the wall next to the bed where my daughter's head was layin at. There was also black mold on the back of the bathroom door. When i made a complaint, i was told that the head house keeper would come and assess the mold and based on what was said they would know how to proceed. They attemped to clean it with some bleach wipes which doesn't get rid of mold and we didn't want to continue to breathe that in. They say they didn't have any rooms available to move us to even before telling them my problem according to the supervisor on duty that she whispered that in the clerks ear as she was passing her.

The resort itself is beautiful and most of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. The biggest detractions to us were the food and liquor selection. Most the food options were pretty bland. They were mostly cold as well. I had heard good things about the steakhouse but the only thing hot were the fries. The italian place was the saving grace.

This is my 3rd visit at Riu, Ocho Rios and the service/hospitality was excellent. Jason at the front desk was very pleasant, he made us feel welcomed. Akeem at the sports bar remembered me from past visits I was impressed by that. My daughter celebrated her birthday here and we had a great time. I was impressed by the fact that they gave her a cake on her birthday, Ms. Arlene (the waitress) it was a great pleasure seeing you again. Thank you team RIU!

I had a wonderful time at Riu Ocho Rios. The staff were all pleasant, the room and premises were generally clean. My only disappointments were the pool closing times and lack of variety in food options. It seems to be a good value for family vacation.

Check in was awful, most of the staff is not friendly, the hotel is more of a party hotel for my liking & food was mediocre at best. Gift shop staff follows you around to the point it’s uncomfortable. The cleaning staff rarely cleaned our room, and I left tips daily. I have been to sister hotels & this one was horrible. I would never go there again. What I did like is you can request towels, refills etc on the app, that was very convenient. Check out was very easy unlike check in.

The Resort should add pick up and drop off from the lobby to the family suites it is a long walk. That is my only complaint. Overall my stay was good.
