When I booked, Expedia said clearly ALL taxes and fees included. The listing said self parking available. When I got there it was almost almost $18 for parking. When I searched closely, after navigating quite a few pages, in the fine print it was mentioned but it was NOT easy to find and the previous descriptions made it look like it was free. I only picked this hotel for the price point because I was just staying the night, just needed a place to sleep. With the parking it was no longer a good option, especially since I booked in advance thinking I would get a good price and the price was much better the day before I arrived, so that was a waste. In addition, the hotel was very shabby, the halls were worn and dirty. The room was not bad, but nothing great (expected at the price I THOUGHT I was getting, but not for final amount paid). The service was terrible, no one came out to desk for a while when we needed help and at checkout they have some guy on a screen which is pretty creepy and hard to understand. He obviously couldn't care less about customer service as he is probably halfway across the world. I would never stay here or recommend this hotel, and I am very disappointed in the misleading listing on Expedia, not to mention Expedia's brag of "all taxes and fees included" which it turns out is a lie.

Inside the room was nice, although lacking light. Check in etc is all on the phone and automated. No good place to sit outside. You can walk to the aquarium along the bicycle path, which is nice.

The balcony is small, but the scenery was good. The building is older, but nicely upgraded. Checking in was the easiest ever. Having a refrigerator and microwave was an essential item for us. Another reason for the choice was because of the excellent location. We will stay here again.

As always, Cannery Row Inn is my go-to place to stay when I visit Monterey. It’s clean, staff is helpful and it’s right in between Cannery Row and the pier. I recommend this place.
