Clean, quiet and seemed quite safe. Food, shopping and the beach are very close by. Would definitely stay there again.

The Sand Castle in was really nice for the rate on the room. However I wasn't to happy with the pet fee of $40 a night. Especially because they had no where to even walk the dog. Thank goodness we bring our own dog doo doo bags.

The staff was terrible to deal with at check in. Had pre paid reservations and was told they couldn't find it. So I paid for a room and then found out. That the hotel did have my reservations and charge for that. So I was charge twice for the same stay.

We just needed a place to sleep, shower & on the go it's clean, safe & not pricey that's why I chose Sand Castle Inn. It's located walkable to Costco, Target & driving 10 min to Carmel. It works for us bc we didn't spend time @ the property for the 2 days we were there.

Cheap for a reason

There is absolutely zero insulation from outside noise and while there wasn't much traffic noise, there were other guests who were inconsiderate and had very loud trucks they started between 5 and 8am. The shower leaked and there were some cosmetic issues inside the room.

I have travel to many places and never charged 45 dollars for a small dog fee, and 100 dollar damage deposit. This is suppose to be dog friendly. Poop everywhere on the lawn. No bags no garbage can. Breakfast was not offered but coffee available , no decaf because they said no one drinks it. Only available when office open.

I've been traveling a very long time have stayed in various different places at various different price points and there are certain things I expect from a lodging. This place just didn't meet those qualifications mostly it was due to the lack of cleanliness. I always check the corners of beds for signs of bed bugs. When I discovered what looked like blood on the sheets, old blood stains on the sheets, and it looked like there could have been blood on the floor and there was a partial black handprint on the wall. I would add they definitely need to make sure they get an exterminator, as there were signs of roaches. So I chose not to stay. I left I didn't make a fuss I didn't make a complaint, I knew I was going to forfeit my payment. I didn't even care that I was going to lose out on the money that I paid for the inn, there was just no way you could pay me to stay there. When I was called because I dropped the card in the checkout box and left without a word, I said I had an emergency and he said I wouldn't get my money back, I said I know. I did know what I was forfeiting but- it was practically emergent to find other accommodations.

We have stayed at the Sand Castle Inn several times. The Room is always clean, the staff friendly. Walking distance to the Beach. We use to go to other Inns occasionally, but now the Sand Castle Inn is our “go to” place when we visit Seaside.
