This hotel has become one of our regular choices. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the location is perfect—just a walk away from downtown Monterey. The receptionist was incredibly nice, which truly added to our overall experience.

Perfectly fine but not outstanding. Noisy corner traffic wise but walkability to the wharf, Bay trail, downtown shops and restaurants is excellent. Room carpet a bit tired but decently outfitted. Small bathroom but fairly recently renovated. Ample free parking in underground garage.

We go to Monterey a fair bit, and this is our new favorite hotel. Just a few minutes by foot from two of some of the best bakeries in the US (Alta and Ad Astra), on-site parking, incredibly comfortable beds that compare to fairmont/four seasons and other top properties, top-notch and exceptionally friendly staff, very clean and updated rooms and bathrooms with beautifully folded towels, this is the one! Just be advised: bring earplugs because you can hear neighbors talking. Aside from that, this is still our favorite, and hits way above its price class in pretty much every category.

I arrived after reading the reviews and it was not at all what I expected. The older gentleman at the front desk was not accommodating or friendly at all. The area the hotel was in did not seem safe at all. There was a bus stop with unsafe people hanging around. The hotel is located right behind a gas station on a bust street. I had my son with me. I felt unsafe staying there with my son without my husband. I checked in went to the room and immediately went back downstairs and checked out. When I explained the situation the Expedia representative tried to get my money refunded and the hotel manager refused. Be cautious if you are a mom staying at this hotel without your spouse or significant other. I am writing this review because I would never want someone else in my situation to feel the way I did.
