Great downtown location. A few street noises in the night but generally quiet. The shower has two cannisters -- both labeled "conditioning shampoo" with nothing else, including shower gel or soap. For an otherwise good motel, that's a needless inconvenience. Also, one awful thermos of coffee in the lobby was worse than not having any at all.

It was last minute, same day booking on Saturday. Most of the hotels were sold out already and the Stevenson Monterey had the last room available. We were driving back home to SF from Avila Beach and decided to stop for a Whale Watching in Monterey. It's just a regular motel type hotel. Nothing fancy. It was OK for a night. The room was clean and it was around 15 minutes walk to the Fishermans Wharf. It's a pretty good hotel for one night, but not for the price I have paid, which was $300+

On the outside it looks like a 60s 0r 70s motel, but has been very nicely updated inside. As such it is a good value. Location is good with lots of places to eat in easy walking distance.

If was a nice place to stay and walking distance to fisherman’s wharf. The room is clean and comfortable bed. The area is not quiet due to nearby traffic. After an active day, you will be so tired that the noise level will not matter. It was a one night stay.

Just a few steps from downtown Monterey! 40 minute stroll to Monterey bay aquarium. Free trolly about 5-10 mins from the hotel. Very clean. Overall very satisfied with our stay!

Staff was very friendly and room was okay for an older property. There was a tear in one of our towels and the water pressure was terrible in the shower. Room was clean and location is great for walking the old downtown part of Monterey.

The motel felt clean and slightly updated. Parking was a little hit or miss some nights, but free. It’s located very close to downtown Monterey, very walkable. But also located on a VERY loud intersection where a great many cars seem to race around and rev engines for some reason. Not the motel’s fault but still needs to be known. I sleep like the dead and the revving woke me up every night. Overall, it’s a reasonable stay in a clean/safe motel.
