I loved staying in the West Building! Room was clean, cozy and quiet enough that I slept great, plus it was an easy stroll to the Rose Room for breakfast each morning (lots of yummy options). The check-in/out processes were also a breeze thanks to Dayton House's virtual kiosk (still a live attendant), which I appreciated when the front desk was busy. I didn't use the outdoor pool or bar but it was nice to have direct access to the beach! There was also ample parking when I arrived; it was tougher to find a spot my 2nd night (Friday) but I lucked out when a family left one open right outside the West Building! Not sure when I'll be back in Myrtle, but I wouldn't hesitate to book a room at Dayton House again. Thanks so much for a relaxing experience!

Dampness in the hallways and wet floors. The bedroom carpet had a bad smell, as did the refrigerator, which was riddled with bugs! It wasn't a good experience. They show you one type of room, only to give you something smaller and of poorer quality. 3/10. I wouldn't go to the same resort again. I'd even like a refund.

There was a dead mouse on the floor of our room when we checked in and all they did was pick it up. The next day we ran into the lady who was in the room the night before us. They had moved her out of that room because the mouse ran across her foot when she was standing in the room. It is very gross that they knew there could be a live rat in that room and they put us in there anyways. We received no compensation and neither did the other lady. Otherwise the view was nice…

The Dayton House in Myrtle Beach consists of 5 buildings. We were in the Dayton Suites building. Our 1-bedroom suite was like a little apartment. The kitchen was small; somewhat modern; equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave, granite countertop, coffee pot, glasses, mugs, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. The living room had a pull-out sofa, a chair, a floor lamp, a TV and a small table & chairs. The bedroom had a queen bed, 1 nightstand, 1 dresser, a TV, a closet, iron, ironing board and a safe. The bathroom had a spacious shower, no tub, and ample counter space. There was 1 balcony that you could access via the living room or the bedroom. The balcony had 2 plastic chairs, but no table. The living room could have used a coffee table or end table. We were happy they offered HBO & Showtime. They also had access to Netflix. We had to sign into our account. We were quite pleased with the suite. It did have a bit of a musty smell, but we didn't mind it so much. We really liked that this property was oceanfront and that it had an indoor & outdoor pool, a lazy river, hot tubs, lounging chairs, and close to restaurants. We had to walk 1-2 blocks to the building (Rose Room) that offered our complimentary, hot, deluxe breakfast. They had a pretty decent selection for the breakfast. Overall, we felt the property offered a great deal for the price. My only complaint is that the elevator door sensor wasn't working. Be careful. I got slammed in the shoulder. Ouch!!

We were last here 10 years ago. Hasnt changed much. Location is great. Tons of parking. Staff was all very nice. Rooms are nothing fancy but suite worked perfect for us with our toddler to have our own space.

Other than the construction going on everything was good. Parking due to construction was limited which made it a little inconvenient. Could really use more handicap Parking. Luggage racks were limited, couldn't find one when I arrived or when checking out. Thankfully I only had a couple things. I was on the 9th floor ocean front and I loved the peacefulness and quietness. I will return & recommend Dayton House Resort.

Mother’s Day weekend

It was nice. Our only complaint would be the parking. The garage only had two floors available to park on and each floor only had like five spaces which made it difficult. There was other parking that was not in our building that we were able to use, but that was a lot further away And when it was raining, it made it difficult. However we enjoyed it all in all would definitely recommend that spot again.

Not too happy with stay

Just average, I enjoyed the guy on the mic and playing music. However, no set time he will be out there. First day, we was there, only there for an hour. The rooms need renovations. My bed was so lumpy. Also, need to let customers know, what they building is blocking my oceanfront view, which I paid for. Overall, my stay was just was not great, but not terrible.
