Overpriced for the quality of the facilities. Employees were attentive and friendly, but it was not enough to offset the gap between the price and quality of the room and facilities.
Well located hotel located near several onsens and close to the main street. Not too far from the moving sidewalk to the lifts (although there is an unavoidable very steep hill). We booked a room with a private bathroom. The room was clean and of a decent size. Main downssides were the significant premium we paid over other hotels, which we in retrospect have trouble believing was justified, and the very poor western breakfast options. Breakfast was comprised of mostly Japanese options (fair enough), but a bit more could be done to improve the western options e.g. scrambled eggs could be hot but were instead cold, bread consisted of very fluffy white buns (not filling at all), and only other options were runny yogurt and a bit of fruit. Not enough if you plan a morning on the slopes.
