We didn't receive any information about check-in until I emailed the owner the day before arrival. And then when we did arrive on island, we received an email that the handyman was still their replacing an appliance. The floors were dirty. My father in-law wears white socks in the house, and they were black on the bottom within the first 10 minutes of arrival. The owner sent an email about being quiet and getting out of the hot tub by 9pm because the neighbors complained. However, no one even went in the hot tub. The large towel rack in the upstairs master bath had been ripped off the wall. The toilet paper holder in the master bath had one side broken off and the roller was missing. The owner sent us an email asking us to wash towel, which is fine and we normally do. However, according to the installer who arrived just as we were leaving the premise and informed us the following: The clothes dryer apparently caught fire on the Friday before we arrived on Sunday, and the fire dept unplugged both the clothes washer and dryer for safety, thus we had no laundry facilities during our stay.
