This is probably more of a 3.5 stars experience for some, but since it was mostly what we expected it is 4 stars for us. We had a couple power outages during our stay. They were brief (less than 2 hours each) however it seems like electricity is a problem there as lights would flicker when the A/C units kicked on etc.
But, the biggest thing to note is this house/cabin is located at the end and down a steep driveway of a gravel road. Some cars, such as our van which is low to the ground and 2WD, would find this difficult to navigate or bottom out trying to make it up the driveway and away from the cabin. As such, we parked in the one parking spot at the top of the driveway and walked down the steep gravel driveway to the cabin.
The A/C units in the three bedrooms worked well but the main cooling unit did not seem to do much to cool the living area. Luckily, it was not too warm and there were also ceiling fans.
We really enjoyed the ambiance and quiet of the location. We enjoyed the access to Glenwood Springs, etc.
We enjoyed the bunk beds and toys for kids--they were a very nice surprise and made it very family friendly. The queen bedroom and king bedroom seemed luxurious but that balanced out the basic bunk room with no A/C.
We did see a couple mice scurrying around at night but it is in the woods and they did not disturb us or our food.
Overall, a fun, memorable experience but expect more cabin hideaway and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
