I had my room booked, and was contacted earlier in the day about what time I would be checking in. Considering check in was 3pm and it was only 1pm at this time, I explained Iāll be there after 3pm. Later that evening, as Iām on my way after visiting family for the holidays, I get a second phone call asking when I would be checking in. I explained I was on my way but it was the holidays and I was visiting. I think it was highly unprofessional to be contacted not only once but twice wondering when I was showing up. Iāve never had a hotel do this before. Then, I call from my room to the restaurant & the phone doesnāt work. I call back on my personal phone and am asked to hold. I wasnāt even put on a real hold, someone just set the phone down as I could hear the chatter still. 7 mins later someone hangs up the phone. I called back, explained I was just hung up on. It wasnāt until my fiancĆ© went to get our food did we get an apology. Yes, the girl who answered wasnāt the one who hung up as a guy had answered and asked me to hold, but as a business, all staff need to be aware that you apologize on behalf of other staff sometimes. What I thought used to be one of the best hotels in antigonish gave me the worst experience.
