The place itself was great! Huge, clean, well appointed, beds all very comfortable! It is two blocks from the St Charles streetcar line and an easy walk to the Garden District and everything on Magazine street, Commander’s Palace, etc. If this place were on the other side of St Charles it would be unbeatable but the neighborhood isdefinitely a little sketchy. It is next to a vacant lot filled with trash and we saw at least one hypodermic needle and a sketchy gas station is one house down on the other side. But even though it looks rundown, they still carried craft beer and we had zero issues. Once you’re inside its great (just keep the shades drawn unless you want a view of the vacant lot). We were with our 4 kids ages 2-9 so on the one hand it had plenty of room for us and on the other, I didn’t feel great about the neighborhood witth my young kids and definitely wouldn’t have wanted to walk around at night. Overall, it was a good experience. Great to have the driveway parking and not have to park on the street.
