This room was ok. It wasn't great. It wasn't horrible. It was ok. Good: it's in the "quiet" end of the French Quarter (if there is such a thing). The location was great. One block from Royal street, two blocks from Bourbon street. One block from the French Market. It certainly has historic charm. The high ceilings were nice. The courtyard was nice - if not a little cold, but it was December, so can't really hold that against the hotel. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard. We sat there a lot. Why? Read on. The not-so-good: the room is bare bones. There's a bed and one chair. That's it. Nowhere for two people to sit. We asked for another chair - even a folding chair. None to be had. There's no fridge. No room in the bathroom for toiletries. The mattress was very worn out. The room was also very poorly lit. One little recessed light in the ceiling near the door, one little lamp by the bed. Also, they don't tell you until you're checking in. They dock your credit card an additional $55 per day for incidentals. Ironic because there's no mini bar or anything like that in the room. I asked what incidentals could we possibly incur. The desk clerk said they keep that money in case you break anything. If nothing's broken when you leave, they release it 7 to 10 days later If you do stay here, go to CC's coffee for your morning cup. Go to Verdi Marte for sandwiches. Hole in the wall place with very good food. Everyone in there is fun and eccentric.

Staff were pleasant and attentive. Penthouse room was 3 flights of stairs with no elevator. Penthouse was big but sparse and showed its age. Main problem was you could hear everything in the other Penthouse through the connecting door. Other rooms may not have that problem. I can’t recommend the penthouse room.

The room was clean upon arrival, and overall the hotel had a certain historic charm. That said, it is important to note that the building is over 200 years old, which comes with some limitations that may not be ideal for all guests. For example, there is a narrow, dimly lit, and uneven staircase, and no elevator is available. This could be challenging for anyone with mobility concerns and would have been helpful to know in advance. Parking is also something to consider. There is no on-site parking in the French Quarter, and while the hotel does offer secure parking, it comes at an additional cost of $45 per day. There were a few minor service issues as well. We requested extra bedding, but it was unavailable. Housekeeping did provide clean towels during our stay, but the beds were not made. None of these issues were major, but they are worth noting for future guests who may expect a bit more in terms of convenience or service. Overall, the stay was acceptable, but

Good location to everything French quarter/bourbon street. Parking was extra but provided. Comfort suite was ok for the money. it’s an old place ,which is cool. Bed was decent. Shower definitely hadn’t been cleaned in a hot minute, doors weren’t very secure, and there was barely any light in the room. Other than that, good. Guest doesn’t have much control over the AC in the room we stayed in, they got it cooled down for us, but just had issues in that aspect.
