The property is old and therefore is not pristeen. The staff is excellent and very helpful. My only complaint is the taste and smell of the room tap water. It smells terrible and we could not drink it. Great location and felt very safe.

The location was incredible, 50 yards from Jackson Square in the heart of French Quarter. The hotel is a converted school which was the first school in the city. It had on site parking which was a plus, and let us park until 2pm after checkout. The staff was a happy friendly group. Stew gave us all kind advice on music venues and places to eat. It’s a 300 year old building, the floor might creek and you might hear few footsteps from above. It added character to this small boutique hotel. I will definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel, old world charm. Because it’s an older place, there are some gaps under the doors for local rodents to come in. Door handle was loose & key pad did not always work. Reported to the front desk clerk but no work was done on it, that we know. Also, no additional night latch on inside of door. We slid the chair over in front of the door each night to help block in case of an issue.

I love the atmosphere, closeness to all the entertainment, The pool was good, but was too small. I reminded me of babylon brook, which made it perfect for the peaceful setting their picnic table and chairs sitting around. No breakfast. Bring back the coffee and pastries!!!!!!!

I first stayed here 60 years ago. The hotel is quaint, charming, historic, comfortable. The staff is fantastic! But the biggest draw is the location, convenient to just about everything, one-half block from Jackson Square, a few blocks to the French Market and the Mississippi and the River Streetcar, 2 blocks to Bourbon Street. And so many delicious restaurants nearby.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The pool was quite cold even when it was 85 degrees outside. The room was booked as two queens but I'm fairly certain they were double beds. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a downstairs courtyard room which was a little loud because it was right next to the ice machine.

I want to give the place five stars because it was beautiful but also note a couple things. The property is gorgeous. They offered us champagne with us celebrating our honeymoon there. It never made it but nonetheless it was a gift, so we didn’t complain or ask for it (that would be rude). There was probably just a small miscommunication with staff. My only grievance is that I’m terrified of rats and saw one running in the courtyard on three different occasions. We were in the back building so we had to cross the courtyard to get to our room. The staff was very friendly every time we entered and exited the lobby. The place is definitely haunted. We heard footsteps above us multiple times but there was no floor above us, and the TV changed settings all night long. We just let the ghost watch what they wanted and they turned it down for us when it got really late. Super considerate.
