Wish I could give it 0 stars- We booked this apartment for a family trip to celebrate my daughterâs birthday & see Hamilton. Sadly, we could not spend the night. On check-in day, the host sent an address that did not match the one on VRBO. The listing shows the unit near Lexington and E. 57th St., but the host confirmed in writing it was actually above the closed Sprinkles cupcake shop near Lexington and 60th St., about four blocks away. When dropping us off, our taxi driver asked if we were sure we had the right location. When we arrived around 9 p.m., the entry & stairways were very dim. Using our phone flashlights, we saw many cockroaches on the stairs and in the hallways. The climb up was difficult: steep, very uneven stairs, a loose railing, and a laundry bag at the top with more bugs nearby.Inside, the bathroom was dirty. The space had makeshift partitions forming âbedrooms,â one clearly a converted closet. We saw more bugs inside, including one that flew into my daughterâs friendâs face. The beds were very low to the ground, and no one in our group felt comfortable or safe staying.I notified the host immediately. She offered to send a cleaner the next day but ultimately declined to refund our payment. We booked a hotel instead at significant extra cost. This was a very stressful experience. I hope VRBO reviews this property closely so future guests donât go through the same. I have stayed at at many VRBO's over the years and never had a bad experience before.
