I have stayed at many short term rentals, absolutely horrible! The master bed was broken so my 82 year old dad slept on the floor. No place to sit. We placed all of our things on the other bed and was charged an extra person. The fees were added on later and there is a notice stating itâs illegal to stay in the building. I will be contacting VRBO to recover some fees!!
After landing i received word that my unit was damaged and i would be unable to stay there for the 3 nights i had booked. The host did make accommodations for a single night at a different unit, but I was informed if i accepted that I would lose all fees and taxes and only be refunded a small portion of the total cost. I can't help but feel this was a scam from the get go.Do not book this unit.
We visited New York for a few days to see some shows on Broadway and experience the city. The location was perfect, a few blocks from Central Park, a few blocks from the bar, close to the metro, great restaurants. Interestingly, the original apartment we rented had some problems with electricity, but Carmen was very responsive and made other living arrangements for us close by, which were very satisfactory, and we ended up having a wonderful time despite the initial hiccup. The check in initially was confusing, but once we figured out the system, it made sense. The apartment is small and a bit dark, but we did not spend a lot of time there. The overall area is very safe. Overall good value for New York City. Would recommend more outlets and more light in the apartment. Would also be great to have some hooks to hang coats on.
