Nice staff, very clean and spacious room, lower floors have a balcony. Fridge and microwave was great, as was large desk and big TV. Location is just a few blocks from many subway lines and shops. A bit pricey during the holidays with limited amenities and small hotel foot print, but that’s nyc.

Rooms are way too dark, no one was at the valet or front desk when I arrived (6pm). The two tvs in our room were in close proximity to each other so when you turned one on or off the other turned on or off. We had to sleep with one tv on both nights because of this. Also, the luggage trolleys need to be replaced. Staff was helpful in responding to anything we needed (lamp/robe/water) but wouldn’t stay there again.

Service was great! Area is walkable and safe day and night. Breakfast was supposed to be included, we paid for it, they give you a voucher per room of $25 and the only available menu is $32 so they always charge you, we are a couple so 1 item was not enough

The staff were nice and professional. The hotel on the other hand is old and the rooms are not well kept. For instance the carpet looked old and dirty although I'm sure it was vacuumed. The room had an extra vent that was blowing cold air despite us having the heat on. It looked like it was separate from the heating system. Not only that it was bringing in cold air it was noisy and it went on the whole time. The phone was not functional had to contact the front desk on my cell. There was no coffee in the room - we had to call services for it. (They only had decaf available.) I would not stay there again. Frustrating ...

Check your pricing before booking!! The hotel adds an additional $50 per night to the total room cost to be paid on checkout. It’s in the small print. They clearly do this to make the room more competitively priced when you search. WiFi barely worked in the room. Breakfast is expensive and very average.

Terrible experience at Lex 48, New York — Do not recommend this hotel This was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in New York. On checkout day, I left my luggage at the front desk to pick up later. When I returned, one of my suitcases was missing. The staff had no control over stored luggage — they didn’t ask for any claim ticket, were rude, and seemed completely unbothered. After a long wait, an employee told me he had taken some suitcases to other rooms. To find mine, the staff started opening occupied rooms, saying “no one’s here, let’s go in,” and even let me walk in to look through everything myself. It was shocking and unsafe. The way they entered rooms so casually showed that the hotel has zero security — anyone could access guests’ belongings without supervision. The staff refused to take responsibility and even threatened not to return my things when I complained in the lobby about how poorly they handled the situation. The facilities are also disappointing. They charge a $50 “resort fee” that makes no sense: only one elevator works, the gym is very poor, the bar is unpleasant, and the restaurant hostess — where you’re supposed to use a breakfast credit — was rude and refused to honor coupons. On top of that, I noticed the safe in my room had been tampered with. I strongly advise against staying at Lex 48. The service is terrible, the facilities don’t justify the price, and the lack of security is alarming. There are many bett
