The hotel is central at a good location. You can get to the centre in 20 mins by walking or by taking public transport. The staff is also very nice. The hotel is located above a nice pub, which you couldn't hear in your room.
The room was very simple. The bathroom is very small and was mouldy. There were no hangers or doors in the closet, so it couldn't really be used. There is a mini fridge in the room, but it wasn't the cleanest. Same goes for the floor and the towels.
Overall, if you are looking for a cheap and central option for a night or two, this hotel is alright.
Les points forts : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
Theres was only 1 cup in room no tea but coffee
Tv wouldn't connect to Internet but a guy did change it for another one
Bed was comfortable and shower piping hot
Staff were friendly, bar was good, room was basic. Lights didn't work, sink tap didn't work in kitchen, toilet seat was loose, paint on walls was scuffed, bed was creaky,
Close to the city centre, top floor - quiet stay, a bit dated room and the building. Nice and friendly people at the reception/bar. No heating, so we were quite cold. Comfy beds.
I stayed here during a business trip and really enjoyed it. Just be clear going in--this is a small room above a pub, so don't expect a lot of hotel conveniences. But it was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great. And it was convenient to have a pub downstairs.
You're about 10 minutes walk to the city centre, with a Metro station a few minute away. Very convenient.
Room looked a lot nicer than you'd expect from the outside and it was clean, but... Mattress was just lumps, the door had clearly been broken into at some point and felt very unsafe - there was nothing to prevent anyone walking upstairs from the bar and easily forcing entry into the room. The TV didn't work - the aerial was broken. The room was cold and there was a lot of noise from the bar below until after midnight.
Interesting hotel, just above a pub and to get to your room you have to go through the pub.
The bathroom was ok, but in the shower I only had hot water, no way to make it a bit colder
Staff were very welcoming and polite. We had an issue with the telly in the first room they put us in, when speaking to the staff about this they decided to move us rooms which was so thoughtful. They didnât have to do this. For it being a little hidden gem we will definitely be back!! Once again thank you to the staff at Hansen Hotel. We felt so welcome and check in was so easy also.
I did not like anything about this hotel its not called the hansen any more its the cog and wheel...it was absolutly freezing filthy and mouldy and the mattress had more brown marks on it than a patchy muddy garden..im still waiting for my refund i was in the hotel no longer than about less than 2 hours.. its a health hazard its disgusting i dont recommend anyone staying here.. .i have photos to prove the state of it....
Room was nice and spacious. The staff were excellent and the bar on the ground floor is wonderful and the area is great, a good location close to the city centre.
There is no maintenance at all. The shower gives only boiling water and I couldnât take a single shower during all my stay. The TV isnât programmed to any channel. No Garbage basket in the bathroom. The Fridge is too small and we have to demand it. No microwave.
The room is on the top floor above the pub. It was clean and warm but very basic. There was aTV but it had no signal, there was a kettle but 1 mug and 1 glass. Only instant coffee no tea available. The shower room had extensive signs of mould and the shower had 2 temperature settings cold or very hot and was very slow to drain. There are 2 car parking spaceâs outside the pub next to the main road so we had to park in a pay and display car park around 5minutes walk away on very busy road.cheap for one night to catch up family nearby but no longer and not one I would repeat.
For a cheap room for a night its ok, no issues great little pub downstairs, food and drinks was spot on.
Plenty of parking around the area.
If I was in that area again, I would book it with no hesitation..
40 quid for a big city stayover bargain.
Good location, short walk to city centre and at James park, nice bar downstairs.
Bed was comfortable, shower ok and kettle/TV etc.
Rooms were clean enough but really run down and could do with a paint
