Impression: Front desk services is excellent. Double queen bed room is roomy and clean. Unimpressive Hallway carpet is old, wet smelling, needs an upgrade. No coffee maker in room. Storm screen door not working proper. During the stay our TV wifi had some issues, the maintenance staff came with an unexpected frowning unpleasant attitude, but did fixed the issue. Breakfast offered very limited food choices.

The location was very good and the staff were also very good. Place is clean. I thought the room was very small. The breakfast was also below average.

We've stayed at this property several times. It's very clean, has nice helpful staff and it is convenient to Newport. They also have a nice pool and a free breakfast which is pretty good. The Applebees attached is not the best restaurant in terms of consistency and staffing which is unfortunate considering the location. Also, the hotel will charge you for a "safe" fee so if you don't use the safe while you stay there, you can go to the front desk and they will take the charges off for you.

Nothing special other than a very pricey Howard Johnson. The rooms were cleaned, beds are good. Staff was nice and attentive. Acoustics are bad we could hear everything in the room above us. Also no coffees pots in room.

It was first time staying at a Howard Johnson. When I first approached it, I was confused. The pictures posted online are kind of misleading. From the outside it looks more like a motel than a hotel. The positives are that it is located in a convenient location for what we wanted to do (Cliff Walk, visit the Newport Mansions, etc) and the facility was serviceable (had WiFi, enough power outlets, good water pressure, free breakfast). The negatives are that they are not the only hotel in that area (so it is not like they are the only hotel with a convent location) and multiple things were broken or a little off. During our stay the pool was out of service and the staff was really rude about it. They said their solution was we could use another hotel’s pool. But do you want to drive to another hotel to use their pool? On our first day, there was no meat at breakfast. They served potatoes and cheese “omelettes”. And on our second day, the orange juice dispenser was broken.
