The house was lovely, clean, and comfortable, and Alan and Valerie were great with communication, providing lots of details. We walked to the state park for all the American side falls activities and also walked across the Rainbow Bridge for the Canadian side activities. Getting the tour package for the Canadian side is totally worth it - saves time and money, includes free transit, and theyâll help you plan out your timed visits. Donnatelloâs pizza, right around the corner from the house is another great walkable option for a meal, especially after a long day of touring around.
The house itself is beautiful very clean and great layout for larger groups wanting space. It is close to 3rd at which has few spots to eat and its a decent walk (about 10-15min) to main Falls and attractions but there is a wine place on corner by house that was fantastic food and wines I highly suggest you try. The street and neighborhood were very rundown- we walked to places during day and didnât feel comfortable due to things we saw so took Ubers, but we had no problems with actual stay. The town itself is very minimal so not lot to do other than fallâs activity, and wished we had car whole time to drive places.
We rented the property for two nights. Needed to leave after night one. Neighbors fighting and drugs dealing on the street. We rent houses 6 times a year and didnât feel safe. I would not recommend
We had a wonderful trip seeing the falls and going over to Canada. The location was amazing! The neighborhood and area around was a little run down but the neighbors were friendly and we definitely felt safe. We would definitely stay again! Thank you!!
We only stayed one night but found the accommodations clean and as described with no hidden surprises. The beds were a little firmer than we are used to, but we still slept well. One set of neighbors greeted us and gave us the run down on their street parking. The neighborhood was a little run down, but we felt safe enough staying there. It was also a little further from the falls than I had originally thought for walking (my mistake) but was an easy drive there. We would stay there again, also thank you to the host for their communication with us before and after our stay.
My stay was good I only had one little problem with check in where the information did not automatically send but i was able to contact the host and she got me the information. I dont blame her because well thats technology. Now about my stay. House was cleanLocation was great and close to everything like a 5 min drive. The neighborhood there is no need to be scared of it. It may look a little rough, but had no problems what so ever. The house for being a older home ac was amazing it was 100 degree outside and could not even tell when you walk in that it was that hot outside. I never had to mess with the ac i was actually cold. The host was nice and had no problems. Last i want to say is that in the summer they do fireworks for 5 mins starting at 10pm these are not gun shots or anything, but i can tell you they are loud in the house, so dont get scared and think something is going on bad. Overall great host and house i recommend. Had a wonderful time making memories with my two kids.
Great home in quiet older neighborhood. Had a problem with washing machine and host was super quick to respond. Large kitchen for feeding our family of 8. One car driveway but street parking not a problem. Close enough to walk to most fall attractions on USA side.
Check in/out was very easy, well clean home. Very close to all attractions with very little drive time to anywhere you need to go. We enjoyed niagara falls at night to see it lit up and was surprised to discover fireworks happen at 10. Second day we enjoyed maid of the mist which i recommend getting there early because we walked right on the boat and was very little amount of people, when we exited the boat the line to get on was very long with a much longer weight time. We explored buffalo NY and had wings and pizza. The only thing i wish was different with the house set up was more towels and washcloths. I had to use the same wash cloth throughout the weekend, towels dont bother us too bad reusing but i struggle with same wash cloth so its not a negative mark towards the owner or house but may just be me preference. I did read in other reviews that the area is run down, which it does, but you can tell they are investing to clean it up. I never felt my kids and us were in danger.
We felt comfortable and safe even though as some other reviewers mentioned.. the neighborhood does look a bit sketchy. The location was great for being able to easily get to the Falls, State Park (beautiful), etc. The beds were very comfortable. I did have to unload the clothes dryer before I could use it, and the dishwasher, but that was ok with me because everything was very clean. As others mentioned, the heat/air conditioning is a bit wonky - even with directions it was not clear how to make it warmer or colder. Or maybe the thermostat just wasn't working correctly. So we just put on sweaters. It would have been nice to have a shower on the 1st floor since one of us became injured during our visit and could not go up the stairs, but we were notified of that on the VRBO site. Really, the house was as described and we enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again.
This was the PERFECT location for our stay to go into Canada. It was great to come back to a place to call ours for a short time. Due to cooler weather and rain didnt get much time after our excursions to walk around outside but one day and it is truly close to everything and a good walk. Super close to the park where you can view Canada. We were able to do laundry & repack with clean clothes. Communication with the owners was a breeze. Thank you for allowing us in your home. We all loved it. My only recommendation since I brought my instant pot, would to have a cookie sheet and maybe a little more of a selection of cooking tools, but other than that, this was the perfect place to stay for iur road trip. Blessings
Loved everything about property it was great the neighbors not so much. Screaming, yelling, fighting and witnessing drug deals outside the home while on the porch with our children all hours of the night. Wouldnât recommend for a family with young children.
We stayed here during our trip to Niagara. The house is well cared for and clean. The location is close to everything; we were able to park the car and walk everywhere. The area and the property outside the house was not as clean but it felt safe. The biggest issue we had was the house felt cold even when the thermostat read a reasonable temperature.
The house was cute and clean. There were however people yelling in the street at one point and there were people hanging out in the driveway leaning on our car.
We loved the house. Plenty of room for everyone. We had 2 adults and 5 kids(ages 5-17). I wish there were some cards or board games but we compromised on movie nights. Location was amazing. Walking distance to the falls. We had to drive due to weather.
Nice property that is convenient to the falls. There are some nice local restaurants close by as well. The area overall has had some tough economic times but it would be hard to find a more convenient location to the falls. We had a great trip and the hosts were great to work with.
We had the unfortunate experience of arriving at 5 PM after a 9-hour drive in freezing temperatures, only to find that the house was not ready. While this was disappointing, we appreciated the compensation provided. The house itself was lovely, well-furnished, and comfortable, though some kitchen utensils were not adequately cleaned. The location is convenient, though the surrounding neighborhood felt a bit shady at times. Overall, the stay offered good value for the price. However, the lack of fluid communication upon arrival was a significant issue that should be addressed - as I was not able to speak directly to the managers, only to communicate via delayed messages.
