We enjoyed our stay in a nice little room in this historic inn. Check in was easy, staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. There is a pub on the ground floor, so we expected some noise, as we were advised of at the time of booking, and it was fine. Great food, drink and staff in the pub. We would definitely stay again.
The room was ok. Old by tidy. The bathroom is in a hallway that connects bedroom and a small living room.the shower was uncomfortably small and water was extremely hot after it took awhile to warm up. I would not recommend the colonel room.
The pub was very convenient for dining and drink options. The room was very clean but due to the live band it was extremely loud and little sleep was possible before 1:00 a.m.
Beds are double not queen sized as advertised. Bathroom sink faucet needs to be tightened (flops over to the basin). Towel racks and toilet paper holder need to be secured as well. Kitchen table very sticky even when wiped! Otherwise we love the Swayze Cottage.
Needs more electrical outlets, inconvenient for people with cpap machines. Rooms are above a noisy bar/tavern open until 1 am. Receptionist answered phone, and instead of putting that call on hold , made us wait until she was done with that call. No elevator if you have a problem with stairs.
We got a great welcome at the Angel, The pub/hotel is quirky and full of character. The food was really good and the staff couldnât be nicer.
It is a pity that you canât make a hot drink in your room as there is no morning catering.
I would highly recommend this place.
Welcoming staff.I would suggest doing wineries after doing checking if theres no parking on site.We found out after checking in we paid 40 for overnight parking across the road at a restaurent. We found out later that after 8 pm to 8am its free in fornt of the inn if theres any available spots.
Liked the old wood beams & flooring. Friendly staff. Stayed in the Captainâs Room which we knew is above the bar and could be noisy. We slept okay with the A/C white noise & ear plugs. But weâre surprised how loud the bar was even on a night without a band playing. Bathroom seemed newly renovated. Bed was comfortable. Food in the old English style pub on the main floor was delicious (fish & chips and a seafood pie). We ate out in the patio area. Great location. Close to shopping, restaurants and a 10 min. walk to Shaw Festival venues. Would recommend this hotel, just maybe not the Captainâs room if youâre a light sleeper.
The staff was amazing and it was a comfortable stay. No parking on the property, but you can park for free on one of the side streets. Just ask staff where that is and they will guide you. We did not know that there wasnât housekeeping services, but when you ask they will provide you with anything you need (towels, etc). The food downstairs is excellent and we highly recommend. We sat outside in the patio which was so nice and relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay very much and itâs so walkable to everything NOTL has to offer.
The Olde Angel Inn is a fun place to stay if you like accommodations with character. The Governor's Room was big enough for the three of us and has extremely comfortable beds and pillows. The bathroom is a little tight, but totally functional. The location is unbeatable, and the pub has good food and great service. Yes, it gets loud (it's a 200 year old building, so very little insulation), but with the AC going it's possible to ignore it. It's the perfect stay for an adventurous traveler who appreciates history and character.
