Elevator was always broken or didn't work properly. Not enough elevators to accommodate all of the guests. Staff won't tell you what specials will be in the buffet restaurant. Italian selections subpar, Italian sauces were horrible. No creamers in bedroom for coffee machine. Staff can't explain the beeper system and reservation system for the specialty restaurants. Alcohol selection was low quality.

The beach was great, very calm and not too crowded. We felt very safe walking out beyond the resort. There were security staff present. The music entertainment at the pool and in the evenings was too loud for us. The room was excellent; we were surprised with a free upgrade!

All the staff is extremely helpful. Ms. Mercedes in Don Nicolas and Ms. Elizabeth in housekeeping were so attentive to us. It made us feel very special. We particularly love the way Ms. Elizabeth cared for the rooms and the amenities. THANK YOU BOTH FOR CREATING SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!

Very disappointing. The rooms and furniture are so outdated and the vents have mold all through them. Wouldn’t recommend if you have allergies.

The property is very outdated and smells terrible. Santana at the front desk is their only saving grace. The food was bland and seemed to be the same food they served at the restaurants and the buffet. There is no designated smoking areas so people were allowed (and were) to smoke anywhere including directly in front of the kids play land. Folks that were visibly intoxicated were not dealt with appropriately and were allowed to continue to be visibly intoxicated even when children were present. The cot that was brought to our room for our daughter looked like it had been there for many many years and was tattered and the mattress was stained. This is our third and final time we will be staying at this property. Very disappointing stay.

This was our fourth visit in four years and plan to come back next year. We have noticed that the quality of the food in the Restuarant's has declined since our first visit. We also had a lot of problems with our room, 816. We had to call maintenance once for a clogged sink and 3-4 times to fix the air conditioning.

The property is spotless, service is magnificent, food is excellent, with lots of choices if you’re using buffet, there’s also choices of restaurants if you prefer with reservations for dinner only. The beach is magnificent, but needs more umbrellas for all the guests, otherwise you need to get up early to get an umbrella .

We had a good time in Aruba and at the Riu. Dining was very good; in particular the food and service at the Kristal restaurant were outstanding. The resort staff generally were very attentive and friendly. The property was very well maintained and attractive, though our room had a slightly musty odor, probably due to the humidity. Although it's a matter of individual preference, for us the noise level at this property was excessive, especially during the day. A DJ blasted music from the pool area so loudly that we could not sit on our room balcony and read or quietly converse, and it was so loud that it disturbed us at times while we were on the beach. There also was loud music playing every night, but it was not as pervasive.
