The upstairs bed was very comfortable and warm. The decorations were to my taste. The property owner was easy to communicate with and worked with me on shifting my stay when I had car trouble. We had a good time and loved our stay but we had to make due because we didnât come prepared to camp. I didnât find the stay as I expected. Itâs on me that I relied on pictures and not the description that was included far below the bullet points of amenities. If youâre thinking about this rental, you should come prepared for camping in an unfinished cabin. It has no electricity and the lights were not easy to figure out. Itâs chilly at night and wood is not provided for the wood stove (which is the only heat). Wood must be bought. There is no running water and the only toilet is a porta-potty. The outdoor shower did not work. The hot tubs are not wood fired as stated initially- charcoal must be bought in order to use the soaking tubs.
Coming to 9 Mile Farm is an off the grid experience! We stayed in the Eco House and had fun with living with the basics, meaning no running water, battery run lights, and a wood burning stove for heat! The bed was comfortable and it was nice to enjoy the quietness a
Stayed the weekend in the cabin. Little stove keeps us warm during a cool weekend in August. Plenty of blanket, kitchen was very well stocked, bed upstairs was so cute and very comfortable. So charming, and quaint with so much character. Out house was very well kept.
No power or running water, but just added to that charm. Would totally stay here again!
The cabin was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. We appreciated the mosquito net around the outside bed because there were a lot of mosquitos. The main problem was that there was a bat in the cabin which was incredibly scary! Every time the lights were off it would fly around franticly. The bed is near the rafters so it is up high near the bat. In addition, there is a rooster who is up late calling and woke up at at 4am with loud calls. Between the bat and rooster we had no sleep and ended up leaving at 4am. We'd have left earlier, but tried to wait until there was at least some light for the drive home. We spent the night huddled under a blanket with hoods on bc of the bat.
This place was both magical and unique. It was an amazing place for our kids to run out in the woods, look for critters, and play. It had all that was needed to be off grid and be comfortable. However, there were a couple things I thought I should mention, and one of them is that if you are taking a few children, some of the beds are outside. I was not comfortable with our young children sleeping outside. So just know that if you have more than one or two children, you will have to improvise with bedding.
The location was perfect. Close to ft flagler but also down the road out of site. Tons of sleeping options, i especially loved sleeping outdoors. Everything created in there is just beautiful.
Our only concern, the rooster who cant tell time
A great little getaway in the woods for part of our PNW roadtrip. Loved the creative home and property. Only suggestion: more lighting options in the home. Even if its just a few more rechargeable bulbs, we ended up using our own lanterns and camping laps throughout the home for adequate light, but lots of visitors likely won't have those and might appreciate some better light. In particular, in the kitchen/ dining table area. Great stay though!
We were looking to unplug for a few days and this cabin was the perfect spot to do that. Itâs definitely rustic, but had everything we needed to relax. The property is really whimsical and there are lots of fun things to look at around the house. The kitchen was really well stocked for a cabin without power. It took some time to get the hot tub fired up but once we got it down it was perfect. I would recommend bringing some citronella candles or bugspray because the bugs were sort of bad in the evenings but otherwise it was really comfy and a great experience!
