Deceptive photos; bait and switch, argumentative

Disappointing, belligerent reception staff. We chose this property because the photos of the bathroom showed a hand held shower head and large shower area - important to us for showering our toddler. However, the room we got had a fixed shower head and a shower about half the size as shown in the photo. I provided this feedback to the person at reception (at Borry's) and instead of an apology, she blamed me, saying "unless I mentioned it, they have no way of knowing". I was in disbelief, and said, "you didn't advertise your photos were deceptive, so how would I know to tell you"? She then escalated things and kept arguing and justifying, saying the rooms are being renovated, and there are separate photos for each room (no, this is false, the photos show only the renovated rooms and there is only one type of room) and the room I was given had not been renovated. So she basically admitted their bait and switch, showing the renovated bathroom in the photos and giving me something else. I have uploaded photos showing the listing and the actual. She would have continued on until I said "I didn't come here to argue." A simple apology would have been the ethical thing to do - instead it's amazing how some people are so self righteous they have to blame and argue. Everyone else on the island was lovely, just this person choosing to blame the customer. There's no doubt in my mind they broke ACCC laws here and are just deceptive.

I can't recommend Whispering Pines highly enough, what a magical place! Only complaint is that the wifi didn't work even after asking about it, but this didn't detract from the stay as we wouldn't have used it anyway.

It was just perfect but the best part was the friendliness and helpfulness of the owner, David. He was waiting for us at the airport and had delivered a hire car to the property for our use. Went out of his way to help with restaurant reservations and provided a mobile phone for use on the island (Telstra don't do roaming). Can't fault anything.

This is a wonderful property and top class accommodation for families. Peaceful setting with amazing views and very comfortable beds. Highly recommend Whispering Pines and would definitely stay there again.

Far from the crowds.

Our first visit to Norfolk Island. A car was supplied and ready to go on site. The island's roads are riddled with pot-holes. Locals are friendly and everyone driving flicks their finger or hand to say hi. Petrol A$2-06/litre The HILLY is a decent restaurant. Kingston comprises the heritage listed buildings from the colonial convict era 1788=1855.Captain Cook lookout is a scenic spot. Mt Pitt is a worthwhile elevated location in the National park. Plenty of tours to select for all tastes. Supermarket prices often double that of NZ. Would return again.
