This was the worst VRBO Iâve ever stayed at. The instructions for check in were horrible, the condition of the house was gross, the bathrooms floors were so ungrouted that I cut my foot, my husband burned himself in the floor board heaters (it was only set to 65* so thatâs an The toaster oven sent out a huge lightning shock (that was visible from the dining table) that could have hurt my aunt which then flipped the breaker so we lost power to fridge for 3 hrs, nobody in Shriner support could tell us where the breaker box was so we could fix it. Nobody was available to talk to when we needed to check in and help us locate the lock box with the key, I had gotten the code but not the location of the box. It was just a really bad stay which is so unfortunate because we really looked forward to it.
The good:1/2 mile from town. No need to fight traffic.Plenty of room for a family or friends to spread out. Kitchen has everything you need. Shower has good water flow and plenty of hot water Washer and drier on site as well as dishwasher.Price is fair especially if splitting with others. The not so good:Weather stripping on door hangs off from the top. Needs to be tacked up.Curtains in main bedroom not long enough to fit the window. Allows light in.Main bedroom TV does not get any channels. Looks like itâs a brand new setup. Attempt to set up anything did not work. Has an antenna cable plugged in and an Amazon Fire stick. Downstairs hallway heater cover is hanging off.Main bathroom glass shower doors are not on the track and push inward towards the tub if you are not very careful. Because they are not on the track the door does not shut all the way. Also the handle facing in is loose. Kind of dangerous. Sooner or later the glass will get broken. Looks like it was not installed properly. One stair tread about 1/2 way up is not tacked down at all and slides off the stair. Could be dangerous. Bathroom tile majorly needs to be replaced. Looks horrible!The upstairs could just use a thorough cleaning. Light on dining room is super dusty, blinds over kitchen window are pretty dirty and the windows all need to be cleaned and then you might actually get a view. Old phone outlet with wires exposed could be covered.
On a whole the condo was wonderful. Clean and roomy. The only drawback was the kitchen. It was so unorganized that we had a hard time finding pans, utensils, and spices to cook with. The shower has a very, very slow drainage problem.
Lovely, comfortable, close to town but quiet. The pool was great and refreshing. The living space is upstairs and the bedrooms are on the ground level. Very nice find. We all agreed that we would stay here again
There were multiple issues with this property. Upon check in, it took a couple minutes to locate the lock box to unlock the house as there were no instructions and it was closed inside a shed adjacent to the front door. As we walked around the property we noticed everyone's feet turning black as the carpet was very dirty and in need of a serious cleaning. There were also a few visible, large stains. Some of the stove burners didn't work, one started smoking when we used it and the hood fan and light did not work. The air conditioner didn't work or turn on. When we decided to watch tv in the upstairs living area there was no remote control or way to turn on the tv. There were no instructions within the house other than a small printed card about locking up garbage in the bear boxes. However, also no instructions about where these are located. On the last night to use the pool and saw there was a padlock on it with a keypad. No instructions on what/where the code was and we had to ask one of the neighbors the code to get in. There were also issues with the tub not draining well in the downstairs bathroom. The property was in a great location, close to all the popular landmarks and it was spacious and had plenty of bedrooms. We were also able to check in a few hours early and the property manager did well communicating via text about check in and check out. We would not book again due to the communication issues listed above as well as the cleanliness and repair issues.
Do NOT recommend! The management company (Vacasa) was horrible to deal with. Upon arriving, it was clear the condo had not been cleaned. The outside closet where the key is kept was filled with trash bags. There were crumbs on the coffee table. Nothing earth shattering but when paying for a cleaning fee, I expect it to be clean. There was an electrical outlet that had live wires sticking out. We never got the code for the pool (a neighbor had to tell us). The condo smelled of grease / bacon. My 6 year old found a nail in her bed, my 3 year old found a nail on the main stairs. The oven was never cleaned - we tried cooking in it and there was a big fire. My friend has 2nd degree burns and was at the hospital because of the grease fire in the oven. This was all in the first 24 hours! We booked for 4 nights. We checked in at 1:30pm on Thursday, by 9:30am Friday I filed a report with Vacasa. By Sunday the AC stopped working (it is advertised as having AC - there is only 1 window unit that is probably 30 years old for the entire condo). The condo was over 80 degrees for our last 2 days. Vacasa only called me back after VRBO reached out to them. Vacasa never acknowledged any of my problems until 3 days after my initial report. We had to eat out for all meals because oven was not working, they never came to clean it. And when the AC broke, we also had issues with the WiFi on Sunday. Horrible experience, do not book it.
Overall we have no major complaints about our stay. The location was great, close to everything and quite neighborhood. We had 6 people and there was plenty of room just utilizing the regular beds. The bunk beds also had a trundle under them for extra sleeping space. I believe the living room had pull out beds for extra space as well. The pool was nice. When we got there, the pool was locked and we did not have the code, but our inquiries were responded to quickly and we were able to access the pool shortly after.
There was an issue with entering the property. We were provided a code to get into the door, but there was no key pad on the door like the other houses on the property. After searching around for a while, we found a locked container in the outside closet that contained the key to the door. Better communication on these check in details would be ideal for future guests. Really appreciated the quick responses from customer service. AC function was spotty, may need to be updated soon.
Location is perfect for family skiing at Cranmore. Good sized condo. Condition was bad. We rent a couple of times per year, this was one of the worst. The place needs a DEEP clean. We had to buy bleach spray to clean the shower. Bath mats are gross, towels dingy, kitchen utensils all felt sticky, mismatched plates and glasses. We like to cook in some nights, no strainer for pasta. Curtains in â Master Suiteâ too short. Dirt and dust noted on all surfaces. Really bad for a rental. Reported to Vacasa immediately, but did nothing. What is the $200 cleaning fee applied to?
Itâs too bad. Could be a great rental with proper cleaning and sprucing of decor
