Unforgettable for the wrong reasons

When we arrived we knew it was 4 pm before the room was ready, this in our opinion is very late in the day , seems to be getting later and later. Our room wasn’t suitable for my elderly father with the toilet being squeezed in right next to the bath, I asked about moving room at reception and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Food in the hotel was superb as always and good entertainment on over the weekend Unfortunately the beds weren’t very comfortable, way too soft for me personally which meant little sleep as it gave me backache but my dad managed On our second night my dad was extremely unwell which later passed to me and subsequently other family members on our return home, the dreaded norovirus, so certainly an unforgettable weekend in Blackpool for sure .

Overall the hotel is lovely, with friendly helpful staff. There is a good selection of food and it is well presented and tastes amazing. The hotel is let down a bit by it's cleanliness. The carpets throughout could do wjth a good clean. The pool in the basement is a nice size. The rooms are a bit compact, which is not an issue if you are out and about. The shower had a steep step to get in, which meant I had to keep helping my wife down from the shower. The towels are not bath size towels. I would happily stay there again though and take my own bath towels.

Prompt check in, TV reception not the best, but that could have been the location of the room. Food amazing and plentiful especially on a dinner ,B+B basis. Huge choice. Good leisure facilities, pool, sauna and jacuzzi although wasnt working but still hot. Jet free. Leisure staff very friendly Tram stop outside of hotel. Limited parking available in hotel ground but if early enough you could get parked in the street next to hotel.

The food was really good, the best thing about the hotel really. Hotel needs a refurb as pretty dated. Also cleanliness could be better. Rooms should be made up every day with fresh towels if required.

NOT SUITABLE FOR A BUSINESS TRIP

Not really suitable as a hotel for a business trip, this is very much a holiday hotel with several coach trips in residence. For a holiday I am sure the hotel is fine, however the fact it was a fixed menu in the restaurant and then the breakfast was only available after 8:30am makes it not suitable for a business trip.

Cliff Hotel -gone over the edge !

This hotel was once magnificent when built over 100 years ago, but is now tired, dirty, poorly maintained and has bad service!

Little bit out of the way on the North shore, but there is a tram stop right outside the hotel. It takes about 50 minutes to walk to the tower. Food was good with a slection of main meals and a buffet for the starter Overall not a bad hotel.

We had four nights in the week for this time of year was good price . Food was really good lots of choice. All staff were helpful and always smiling . The only down side like most hotels they have the smoking area to near the front door. A lot of people vaping in the hotel it self needs more signs up banning vaping everywhere in the hotel .

Makes Faulty Towers look professional

Booking: used book now, pay later - hotel tried to take the balance 2 weeks before without consent. When challenged they sent their T&C’s which they should have sent when the booking was accepted. Room: “upgraded” sea view room was tiny. Bed was small but comfortable. The bathroom fan sounded like a 737 engine! Breakfast: the food was good and plentiful but the outdated same table every morning system doesn’t work and M creates unnecessary work for the staff. On our 2nd morning, someone was sitting at our table and when I told the waitress, instead of sitting us at one of the countless other empty tables, a manager got involved to tell the other couple off, making for an uncomfortable experience all round. Parking: there is simply not enough parking at the hotel. When asked for alternative options, reception had little idea of where or how much it would cost. A simple Google search found me a car park less than 5 minutes walk away for £25 for 4 days. Pool and “spa”: the hot tub was out of service as they hadn’t heated the water. The pool was full of children, who despite many signs to the contrary were bombing into the pool without consequence. The sauna was old and tired. The whole leisure area was also not monitored and we discovered the sauna door left wide open allowing the heat to escape. Check out: a very bored looking staff member took my key with a grunt and not even a good morning. NEVER AGAIN.
