Big wet spot on the bed! They kindly cleaned it up. We were told to “then just go to another hotel” when we were concerned that the water was being turned off all day for repairs. They gave us a wheelchair accessible room. Not asked for. Only FIVE INCHES between the bed and the wall. The other side was designed for the wheelchair. If you are handicapped then travel ALONE to this hotel. Shower knob fell off. Paint flaking off soap holder. Window blinds would not open due to broken controls. No one came to fix it. Nothing covering the cold hard cement floor. I assume it’s for wheelchairs but is really unfriendly for others. “City view” was a joke. No restaurant. But it looked like a fun bar for people under 40. And I wouldn’t call it “downtown”. More like downtown adjacent. They shouldn’t just try to be cool with the really cheap decor.

Great Room, But Some Inconveniences During Our Sta

The room itself was great—clean, comfortable, and perfect for a good night’s sleep! However, there were a couple of downsides to our stay. The water was shut off at 8 AM (we were notified in advance), which meant we had to wake up extra early to shower. Additionally, the cook was unavailable, so there were no food options, only free beer. While we appreciated the complimentary drink, having no meal options was inconvenient. Overall, a good stay, but these issues could be improved for a better experience.

Bay Vibes at its Best

Great Bay Area Vibe! Love this place! Relaxing, with a semi upscale feel. Laid back, great branding. Good family fun as well. Private secure parking. I had a truck full of event equipment and was totally comfortable with parking here. Great service, good bar options and food!

Parking is self park in a lot across the street for $50 no matter the circumstances. (We got in at 11pm and were leaving at 5am and it didnt matter) we booked a king size bed and it definitely was a queen. Just so happen the power went out or someething earlier that day so there was no TV or internet or phone. So we had to go down to get info on that since the phones didnt work. As a mom with a family traveling TV was so important. And they didnt even let us know at check in

There was no blackout curtain and the room had way way way too much light coming in, making it hard to sleep. The heat and HVAC was also very noisy. Pretty tough sleeping in a place that (checks notes) is meant for sleeping...

Doesn’t live up to Marriott Standards

Although this hotel is fairly close to Lake Merritt, some good coffee shops, and restaurants-it lacks a lot. Parking is terrible….had to wait more than 20 minutes to get our car. (No valet parking). Coffee in lobby was never hot, they didn’t have creamer. Hallways are dark, hotel is old, not clean. I would definitely look elsewhere.
