Staff was very kind and chatty, and exterior looked nice. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite with a kitchenette. However there were no amenities in the kitchen- every drawer and cupboard was completely bare. Not even a napkin, plastic spoon, or a dish towel. Beds were super creaky- could hear every spring move. Walls were dirty- need a new coat of paint. Everything was very old and in need of some TLC.

Cute little property and well maintained. Room was clean. The front desk staff was very nice. We got in late so nothing was open in town to grab dinner but he recommended a place about 10minutes away that was excellent. Would stay here again.

We had a restful stay at Occidental Lodge. Staff was very kind and welcoming upon arrival. Room was clean and beds were very comfortable, photos are an accurate representation. We'd recommend getting a room on the second floor as we had one on the lower floor and could hear the footsteps of the guests above us.

The stay was nice and the clerk at the counter was exceptional. Our TV didn't work and he tried his best to accommodate us but we had already unpacked and didnt want to move. His offer to move rooms was appreciated. He went above and beyond to help us.

Old and Somewhat Updated

I stayed here as it was convenient to a family gathering. Loved the hamlet of Occidental - lots of shops and places to eat. Great breakfast spot right across the street. The room was adequate. Hard flooring throughout. Very nice updated bathroom with walk-in shower although it’s frustrating to have a great rain shower head at half-speed. King bed a bit soft for me but OK. However it took up 90% of the floor space so had to be careful moving around. Funky sitting area with chair and loveseat and wall tv in an odd position. Mini-fridge and mini-Mr. Coffee maker. Highly recommend management replace these with Keurigs.

Nice escape in the woods

Comfortable, not a luxury hotel, but good for a family getaway to the woods and Russian River. Check-in was easy and the staff are very pleasant. Pool was clean, my kid enjoyed it the two days we stayed. Easy to get to Monte Rio/Guerneville/Bodega Bay. A few restaurants within a block radius (town is only a few blocks long!), recommend Howard’s Station Cafe for breakfast, and Joe’s Bar/Negri’s restaurant (same place) for dinner.

If staying mid-week, only one restaurant open - Mexican. The General Store has a deli though with soup and fantastic sandwiches. Also, need a night stand on both sides of the bed. Otherwise, nice room.
