This is our favorite place to stay when visiting both Death Valley and Mt. Whitney. We have no troubles with bringing our large dog with us. The beds are comfortable, the high-desert scenery is breathtaking, and staff are friendly. The only thing that was a little confusing is that you check in at the Cafe. No trouble, you can order dinner at the same time.
The check in host was the friendliest guy. The yurt/tent was neat and comfortable.
One thing to note is that if youâre staying on a cold night in winter, there arenât lots of warm blankets. I had an extra from the car so I was comfortable enough but I was glad I had that one of my own.
Overall, an enjoyable quirky place to stay.
What a unique way to begin our trip to see the Superbloom in Death Valley! It was so memorable to stay in the "Buffalo TeePee". You feel closer to the land & really hear all the sounds of nature such as owls hooting & the song of the coyotes. It's a comfortable cross between a hint of what it must have been like for the Indians on the prairie to the modern day convenience of waking up in a bed with a toasty electric warmer right in your TeePee. The rustic western-style Olancha Cafe greets you with wonderfully home-cooked meals as well. I highly reccomend this place to all for it's one-of-a-kind experience.
This place should be shut down. We left after one night. It is completely run down and the restaurant smells like grease. I ate a hamburger which Iâm still regretting. I asked for my money back for the night I cancelled and have yet to hear from anyone. If you see this place- keep driving.
The units were actual house trailers, RVs, and teepees. We stayed in the "Deluxe Queen" room with kitchenette. It was fine, and the bed was very comfortable, but having the kitchen sink in the bathroom was a bit odd.
What a fun adventure to stay in a Tipi! It was 35 degrees the night we stayed and with the heater and the blankets we slept well and were not cold. The staff are great, and the experience is memorable! I would highly recommend.
Incredibly neglected maintenance of a uninsulated, 40 year old single wide being sold as a deluxe suite.
No soap in the bathroom, paper thin linens, dirty sink broken (infilled) soap dispenser in the shower. Cracked/peeling paint, hole in walls. No staff contact as we arrived late (9:30pm) and left early (7am) to get out of the place.
This is a very unique hotel experience in the desert, which I absolutely loved. The manager, Alice, was also the cook and waitress. She was so friendly, and we had great conversations during my stay. The room was recently renovated and was very comfortable. I liked the porch, where I could sit and look at the mountains and the desert. I kind of wish I stayed in a teepee.
Rustic property, clean pool, clean & remodeled, comfy room w great view. Roy provided prompt curteous service & delicious dinner. Morning gal provided friendly service & fab omelet. Loved our quite, friendly visit.
