I recently stayed with my young son. It was mostly a nice stay, aside from someone vacuuming the hallway floors at 9PM (fine if you're an adult guest, not so great for young children who are trying to sleep), and a heavily make-up stained pillowcase/duvet cover that would have been impossible to miss for whomever made up the bed. We had a great meal at the hotel's restaurant where the server was very accommodating to our dietary restrictions.

Great hotel

All the staff where friendly and helpful, always greeting you with a smile and a how are you. Room was clean and bright with great views. Location was ideal for accessing all of the main tourists sights.

Great for short-medium walk to attractions

Location was great, next door to Byward Market, short walking distance to CF Rideau Mall, within 20min walking distance to lots of museums and Parliament hill. Traffic at the Andaz location is much more manageable compared to Fairmont - we saw cars couldn’t even get to the entrance there, for this alone we are glad to have chosen Andaz. Everything was super clean and new in 2025 during our visit. There was adjacent building construction but it didn’t bother us as we were up fairly early. We used valet parking with in-out privileges as we didn’t trust the nearby street characters but I’m sure there are many decent parking options available. Overall one of the best hotel experiences in Ontario, considering the price during peak season. Highly recommended.
