The staff was acceptable. The room was not very comfortable for many reasons. The lighting was terrible—light switch 6 feet from bed. No reading lights on either side of bed. No lighting illuminating entrance door area where there was a full-length mirror, but good luck seeing anything. Also no lighting in coffee preparation area. And the clothes hangers were almost seven feet above the floor—good luck trying to reach those! Ha! Window blind was not wide enough to block the light coming in from a street light outside the window. The thermostat could not be changed. Comfort lacking in so many ways. Entirely too expensive for the inadequacy of the room. The morning staff had no idea how to interact with me when I wanted to check out. However, great location!

This was an amazing stay. The only thing that made me laugh was the amount of bulbs burnt out. And lack of overall maintenance. Just simple stuff. Not a big deal but we had to set the TVS up to work. They weren't Connected. But the building itself was amazing.

The staff was great and the room was clean and very interesting. The one oddity is that the tub and shower were part of the room without a curtain, door, etc. We thought it was great, but if you're traveling with a non-spouse, it might be kind of awkward.

The room was nice but felt like it was a bit expensive and the two nights we stayed the bar was closed for private event and the people staying above us were extremely loud kept us up until 4:30 am!

Have stayed here many times. It's a very convenient location for downtown and the quilt museum. Lots of restaurants in a short, safe walk. Having said that, this trip was a bit of a disappointment. Just wasn't as welcoming, as comfortable. Not really sure what is different but we usually leave it smiling; this time saying we should try someplace else.

Easy parking right outside. Lovely stylish room, comfy bed, large shower. close to town facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Only negative was that walls quite thin so bit of noise from neighbouring room early morning. Very pleasant stay.

As of this writing, parking is allowed on the street in Paducah and I parked right out the front door…very convenient. The room was very clean and the staff is polite and quite helpful when I asked about dinner options. I was only in town one night as I was passing through, but if I am in Paducah again I will most definitely stay in hotel 1857 again.

Our stay was fantastic! The staff was super friendly, rooms were very clean and we loved the vibe and decor! Beds slept well and the ac worked great! Is in the heart of the downtown district with loads of nearby activities.

Friendly staff. Beautiful remodel of an old brick building, right on the edge of the historic district. About two blocks from the river. Rooms have a rustic, high-end vibe. A bar with limited hours is in the back of the building. There is no elevator to get to the second floor rooms, and our room picked up some street noise, but our stay was about as good as it gets.
