This is a cute little property with it's own retro charm. This was my fifth stay and unfortunately it will be my last. I can live with the pool being refurbished even though I booked a poolside room. But that's just the start. The chair broke and dumped me on the floor when I sat down. After over a week I still have the scab & bruise on my knee. A noise began at midnight, like tennis shoes in a dryer, and lasted until 6. I finally got up at 4 and made a video, recording the sound. The mini fridge froze & ruined my food. I found the front desk clerk at 6:30 and tried to explain and show him the video. He told me it "isn't worth nothing." And refused to look at it. He said he would throw away the chair, and that's great but how does it help me? He said it was my fault for putting my food in the fridge, and that the noise was probably "someone walking around upstairs." The noise was through the wall, not from the ceiling. After telling me "You know I don't have to be nice to you. " he refused to give me any contact information for the manager but said he would perhaps have him call me in a couple weeks He refused to give me his name also. The rudeness alone is worth a comped night. It was over the top.

As soon as we arrived at De Los Reyes hotel, it was clear the property was very run down and it’s not what you see online when we booked it. While checking in, we noticed two people ahead of us who appeared to be homeless and carrying many individual small bags. One was denied a room by the front desk, who remained polite and professional. Once we entered the room, the condition was unacceptable. The floors were sticky, the bedding and pillowcase smells sour odor and surprisingly the sheets and pillowcases were dark brown color which I’ve never seen in a hotel before. The bathroom floor tiles were chipped and dirty and the patio door lock was bent and looked like it had been broken into previously. Overall environment outside the hotel was also unwelcoming, filthy grounds surrounded by barbed wire. We tried to convince ourselves to stay but after 15 mins and the condition is unbearable. We clear the room right away 15 mins after we check in. The room and property were in such poor condition that we checked out immediately.
