I rarely write reviews, but our experience at Desert Hotel Springs Spa Hotel was so profoundly disappointing that I feel compelled to warn future guests.
From the moment we entered the lobby, we were hit with a strong, lingering odor that set the tone for the rest of our stay. The atmosphere throughout the property felt unsafe. The hotel exterior is in a shocking state of disrepair — uneven and cracked concrete, crumbling façades, and a general appearance more reminiscent of an abandoned facility than a functioning resort.
The pool area was equally uninviting. Multiple pools were out of order, the water in the functioning ones was murky, and the turf flooring was filthy. Even more concerning: a staff member explicitly warned us not to step in a puddle leaking from the ice machine, citing a risk of electrocution due to an electrical undercurrent. This is not just unacceptable — it’s dangerous.
Inside the rooms, things didn’t improve. Curtains bore cigarette burns, and the entire place reeked of marijuana. The guest experience was made worse by a mix-up in communication: we were initially told we could use the spa facilities at the sister property, Miracle Spa, only to be informed later that this would require an additional day-pass fee. Meanwhile, the code to the parking lot was changed mid-stay without any notice, and our room keys were inexplicably deactivated halfway through our visit.
