Grandson's cross-country Nike camp at Stanford University
We had gifted each grandchild a summer camp at Christmas, and our 14-yr-old selected his dream camp at Stanford; unfortunately though it was a day camp which required adult supervision during his time there. He lives in SoCal, we're from very N. CA. So we rented this nearby VRBO for 6 days! It turned out to be a fun time for a couple other grandkids, his parents a couple days, and we grandparents who enjoyed the family time.
Property is located on a very nice, quiet, and safe residential street, but is very close (5 minute walk) to a nice selection of casual restaurants, coffee shops, and food markets. My daughter and I found it to be a wonderful choice for visits to Stanford and the Palo Alto area. The property is very clean and well outfitted for a visit for several people who need to work while they visit the Stanford / Palo Alto area.
Alice's place was fantastic for a few friends and I attending a Stanford reunion. The place was easy walking distance from both Stanford's campus and California Ave (incl the Caltrain stop), making the trip easy even without a car. Thank you so much Alice!
We stayed here during our visit from Japan. Throughout our stay, we frequently visited Stanford University, and since the campus was within walking distance, it was very convenient. The area is quiet and peaceful, so we never felt uneasy. Supermarkets and restaurants are also within walking distance, which made things even more convenient. The facilities were well-equipped, and we were very satisfied. We also appreciated the door between the living room and the back room, as it provided a great sense of privacy.Additionally, we are delighted with the support we received from the host.
Conveniently close to Stanford Medical Centers, hospital and university
Conveniently close to Stanford Hospital, excellent restaurants and shopping. Clean house, beautifully decorated. The bedrooms have desks and bathrooms are a good size. A lovely family room and great kitchen. Parking is available, but very compact and narrow. We found it more convenient to park on the street in front of the house, itâs free parking and we always found a parking space.
Great stay in Palo Alto! Mainly used the place for family to sleep over the holidays while seeing family locally. Good communication and very clean. Would stay again on a visit!
Convenient to Campus with plenty of street parking
We were two couples so this was prefect as we each had our own baths. Kitchen range was fantastic and plenty of space in the common area. Fast WiFi and Apple TV. Beautiful flooring, big washer and dryer and comfy beds.
You can't tell from the description, but this is mostly a second-floor home, with only one bed/bath on first floor. With small children, you can't easily block the top of the stairs from curious crawlers. Comfortable beds and place. We'd been promised a crib for our infant, but it was not delivered until 8 PM, well after the child's bedtime.
Property was clean - but like most properties, there were small inconsistencies - couple of bulbs out, dirty air filter & grate; and miscellaneous items left outside. This mainly 2nd floor property (except for the 1st floor master bedroom & bath) is as described - fairly large and comfortable sitting spaces with good kitchen & appliances. Also, very close to Stanford and good restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay during our volleyball reunion weekend. The large gathering room and kitchen were perfect for hours' long chats. The home was spotless and well-equipped with cooking utensils. We walked to the restaurants on California Avenue and walked to the volleyball and football games, so you don't need a car if you're visiting Stanford. We'll come back again!
Everything worked out great, we were about a 30 minute walk to everything we needed to see on campus, Carrie was very communicative and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!
The home had plenty of space for our group and was clean and well stocked. It was a back house, so it was private and offered a long driveway with multiple off-street parking spots. It might have been tricky to find the first time if arriving after dark. Our visit coincided with an unusual heat wave in Palo Alto , but there were multiple air conditioning units, so it quickly cooled off upstairs. The downstairs bedroom stayed a little stuffy as I donât think it had an air conditioner. It did, however, have a portable fan. It was nice to have a washer and dryer in the unit..
We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again .
This is a clean and convenient home that is very near Stanford. The kitchen and living area provides a nice gathering place. There are 4 bedrooms (3 up and 1 down) with beds for 8 and 2 sleeper sofas.
What a nice place for our group to stay for a water polo competition. Everything was great.
We never could find the "extra back door" listed in the instructions.
We hope this rental is available the next time we travel to see our Stanford grad student! We really loved the 4 bedrooms that allowed all of us, including our Stanford student, to stay together under same roof. Good proximity to Stanford. Comfortable, clean living spaces. Highly recommend.
