The cabin was clean and well appointed. The cabin had all the modern amenities while still feeling rustic with that Northwoods charm. The kids had a blast on the kayaks and beach area. The beach area is actually a small sandy area and a pleasant surprise since wasn't seen in the photos. The screened porch is spacious with a ceiling fan and retractable clear plastic windows. The kitchen was well appointing and had sharp knives and real glassware, a rarity in short term rentals. But make sure to bring your own salt/pepper/spices. The only minor issue was the supply of TP, which is somewhat surprising if there is concern of what ends up in the septic tank.
A couple of things to be aware of that do not detract or are negative about the cabin.
- The water along this side of the lake is shallow for quite a ways out. Watch the depth before going on plane and maneuvering/docking a deep-v boat was tricky.
- Since the water is shallow, the dock is LONG! (128'). I was able to make 75' of extension cord work to charge boat batteries, but wished I had 100' or more. There is an outlet a few feet away from the dock on shore.
- There were a lot of mosquitos. I don't believe the property was treated with chemicals (which is good in my eyes)
- The water has a tannin color to it. It's clean and fine for swimming, just know there are not many weeds and the weeds that are there don't grow deep. The weedline was in 5-6' FOW.
- The boat traffic was fishing boats and pontoons
