As a couple we spent two days at Neidworth Castle for the occasion of a birthday celebration. So this is nothing you do in every day life and it is an unparalled experience. The castle itself is stunning, offering plenty of space and numerous chambers to explore. It is not fancy in the sense of a five star hotel, it looks and feels used, but this is so so charming. The staircase and the floorboards look like hundreds of feet had been trodding them, the antique furniture fits the large chambers and the fire crackles nicely in the fire place when sitting on the couch and reading one of the books about the castle`s history. It`s a huge building with a lot of history and you can enjoy it and have it all for yourself. We slept well in the large bed, prepared food in the large kitchen (wearing a warm hat against the cold) and just kept exploring the place using the spiral staircases. There is a bathtub with hot water, a roof with a view - as mentioned before, absolutely outstanding. We enjoyed it a lot and can wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Neidworth Castle!
