We enjoyed our stay at the Neidpath Inn.
The staff were very welcoming and efficient .There was also a band on the Saturday we syayed which was a bonus .
Very welcoming with my room ready and available to me earlier that the specified time. Plenty tea / coffee sachets in my room and loved the bed. Dog friendly which suited my old dog with a park a short walk away where she could stretch her legs etc.
Cozy and right by everything you could need. The views from my room in particular were stunning. Breakfast was great (I had to full Scottish breakfast). All the perks of a hotel with the family owned and run atmosphere. Would happily stay again!
Chose this place as it was 10minutes walk from the function I was attending (at the Golf club). On arrival, there was no indication of where to park. I was fortunate enough to have pulled up right outside and was assured that âshould be okâ.
My room, at the front of the pub, was very spacious with en-suite shower room, which was very clean, as was the rest of the room. The electric shower lacked a bit of pressure but worked ok for the one night. The bed however was very firm and would benefit from some better quality pillows and bedding. Extra touches such as a glass for a drink of water and some proper sized coffee cups would also have been very welcome.
There was a little disruption at the pubâs closing time (1am) but no more than the rattle of the bathroom extractor fan that did keep rattling all night long. (It was a windy night)
Breakfast was booked in advance, cooked fresh and was tasty.
I didnât feel the room was worth what I paid, but for ease of location it served a purpose.
Les points forts : Personnel et service et confort de la chambre
A trip to Peebles
A kerfuffle to book in as they hadn't a copy of our booking. Sorted with proprietor arrived. Basic cleanliness was good. Stairs could have been vacuumed to give a better first impression. Beds clean and comfy. Got more teabags and milk when we asked for them. Good value for money.
Room was basic but comfortable. Everything was spotless. Live music til midnight was not ideal but we had no other option! Breakfast was great. Staff super friendly and helpful.
I donât normally leave reviews, especially negative ones because I understand it can be a one off bad experience but after staying at the Neidpath Inn I felt I had to do that others avoid it at all costs.
Highlights of the weekendâs stay.
When you âcheck inâ you do so at the side of the bar and if there is any problem or queries donât expect any help from the bar staff.
Our room was meant to be a twin and booked as such, but was setup as a double. We asked for this to be changed as soon as we arrived after a very long drive, but after being told by the bar staff to ask the chambermaid who was in another room, we were unbelievably SCREAMED and SHOUTED at by her!! She swore at us in polish as we tried to explain what had happened but continued to shout that we should have asked earlier in the day even though we had just arrived!! She slammed doors and continued to be angry and aggressive towards whilst making the change despite us having done nothing wrong and pointing out our booking which said a twin room.
A band in the pub was playing late into the night making sleep virtually impossible, and at 5am the following morning the same chambermaid who had screamed at us for asking for the bed to be changed made a point of banging and crashing around outside our room to ensure we were woken.
The beds are old, uncomfortable and generally terrible as is everything about this place, but most of all the service.
The staff were very welcoming and accomodating. We were visiting with a toddler and they ordered new bedding for him. At our first breakfast we were discussing his eating habits (which can be fickle as toddlers can be) and his love of cookies. The next morning we came down to find Vanessa had gone out and bought a box for him. The whole team were really friendly and happy to help.
Large rooms. Loved the views from the windows. Excellent selection of beers. Staff were very pleasant as were the owners. pleasant eateries locally. River Tweed at the back door, excellent rambling country
In spite of the wet day I had a warm, friendly welcome at the Inn. There was a fire pit taking the chill from the air in the beer garden which had umbrellas and heaters over the tables. I enjoyed one of the house pizza's that evening, and had a good nights sleep in a large bed in a large room upstairs. Next morning I was given the most enormous "Full Scottish" breakfast I'd ever seen, fuelling me up for my day travelling home. I would stay here again and would recommend The Neidpath Inn to anyone who wishes to visit this pretty little borders town.
It was a 2 min walk from our friends and very close to the town with lots independant shops. The town itself is very lovely and its close to the river. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room very clean, nice bedding and towels. We didn't stop for breakfast as we went to be with friends so can't comment on that. Response to messages about dietry issues.
